That's what blind siege is in this game, but I can't ever find it, and if I create a room, either there aren't enough people online to play it, or maybe people just don't know what it is?

All I see now are infinite respawn "sharpshooter" type games. Some LMS/survival, but not much. I'd like to get some siege going with TS mode, but it doesn't seem possible. Ranked is even less likely, with NO team games showing.

I'm only seeing 3-4 team rooms at a time, player (none in ranked) at any time of the day. Is that what everyone else is seeing?

Have you tried switching the DLC on/off?

I think the problem is that not many people play it. I just searched it on player match and didn't see one room. Usually when I search it there are only a few rooms.

When I search, it's without having to match my packages. When hosting, I don't switch it off. Surely people get the map? Free DLC should be a no brainer.

Same here. I can't find any "siege" matches at all. This is unfortunate because that's where the staying power of this game will be for me. Well, DLC will help but missions do get dull after twenty rounds or so.

If the GRAW siege crowd would come over and try this, I KNOW they would love it. But the demo they can try out only has deathmatches, where this UNSPOKEN ethical knockdown paradigm flagrantly violates common sense. BTW Which marketing guru unleashed THAT fiasco? You have to TELL PEOPLE why their gun doesn't work on a downed opponent, not make them come to the forum to find out. My LORD how can you spend so much time on technical development and then botch the part where you consider your audience? We're SHEEP. Baaa. We don't know what you don't tell us. I and the vast majority to whom I've spoken about this game were VERY turned off by this. Didn't your beta testers ask this question? Did you pick experienced beta people who already knew? If so, you sold yourself short. Next time add some noobs to your sycophants and make sure you spell it out for me. Trust me, we're very hard to underestimate. Tell me when I put my reticle over the guy that I'm about to violate my honor, or slap my hand after I shoot him. Don't just make the gun not work or make the opponent bullet proof. You have to look at it through the eyes of the ignorant.

Back to topic - With the demo being a deathmatch hook, how can we expect fellow siege players to spend $60 sight unseen so they can play this? What do we tell them, that it's a more realistic GRAW siege, only in first person weapon view? That sounds okay, but there's also only 8 maps while GRAW is on the verge of a million. We want to help out, but that's a tough sell. A sector demo would have already fostered a bourgeoning community of sector games.

There's no real impetus for these guys to move. And moving is political; it's momentum. If the TS sector matches aren't there when you search, well you just play campaign (or pop in your GRAW) and then of course there will NEVER be sector matches in your search. We have to build momentum somehow. Sector players must either be created or "stolen" from GRAW.

The GRAW siege crowd already has the momentum to be self-supporting. But the demo was a pathetic vehicle to appeal to them. I would guess some bean counter boss wanted to shoot for the largest gaming segment no matter what. I hope we can overcome this slow start.

i didnt see the option for the new map the first few times i played and then even after knowing it was there took me a while to figure out where it was. it dosent stand out and there is no prompt when you start the game.

also if they would just alow for instant kills with certian weapons in certian areas. most like the wounded thing. just when there is a head shot or grenade or something of the like there should be an instant kill. also even though though your not supposed to shoot a downed enemy you should be able to. just take away honor points or something. your not supposed to shoot your team. but you can.
i play with many ghost recon players (99% seige) at digital combat and this was the main gripe about the game. there would be hundreds of competitive seige players from dc playing now if it wasnt for the kill issue. if they fix that the game will take off.

There are two things I think are important to consider about this topic.

1. The game has only been out for about two weeks. Many other well-advertised and over-hyped games have come out recently, for all of the systems. The winter is typically the time people branch out because of less releases. I think word of mouth, friends seeing friends play it on there lists and a desire for variety will boost interest in this game at that time. I have several personal friends who absolutely hated the game/demo at first and were all about COD4. I see a trend forming where some of these people are starting to take a second look at AA: TS, one guy bought the game already, others are playing the demo and inviting me to play that when I'm on the full game.

2. The consensus between many of the people I've been playing with is that they want SP first. Almost everybody I talk to is still attempting to earn these points and raise their initial stats. I know I am. There is a generous portion of the expanding community focused on this. After everyone gets their points, they will venture into the types/modes they like. I can see ranked, blind siege and other modes becoming much more popular at that point.

I agree other types/modes in the demo would help those people interested see the light of day. Do you think that they won't eventually anyway though? I could be wrong, but I think the community on this game will flourish. It might not be a giant community, but I think it will be good. I know for people like myself, there is no other game currently available on the 360 that can touch AA:TS. Even if I had to convince my girlfriend to start playing with me offline/splitscreen (which I know won't happen), this will be the game I will play until something else comes out that can compete.

i played in a big assault room tonight for a while with some regular seige players and it was great. loved every bit of it. once people are done with coop and are playing the game modes and more come then this will be my main game.

even if or when the next gr comes out if its third person im not moving to it. ive been playing ghost recon 99% of the time for the last 5 years up until a month ago and i will probably never go back.

please have a patch soon to fix some issues.
that would be a big boost in it self for the game.

I just searched for a sector match, I didn't find one in ranked or player matches.

I check each night, never see anyone.
On the other hand, we could practically set up a private ranked room on there one night if you guys want to play. Pick a night and I'll host a TS siege night. No problems with catching up with each other, it would be the only room open. LOL

The only problem is that I think we would get around three people. I wonder why nobody plays random asault? Maybe they don't know that it is blind siege. I think it might be good to tell people that it is blind siege then we might get more players.

Played CO-OP stealth last night. Most fun I have had in a long time! Too Happy I almost wet myself I was laughing so hard when the sirens go off. The excitement level on this mode was rediculous. Going from having 8 dudes crawling through the grass whispering to (if you are sighted) everyone running around like "chickens with their heads cut-off" attempting to inactivate the enemy platoon in 30 seconds was an experience that I can't relate in words. It absolutely rules and some of the most fun ever!

Tomorrow is my final day of the term and then I'm on vacation so, I'll be playing more and hope to get in some games with you guys soon, ranked, siege, whatever.

I agree it will probably flourish regardless of the demo's shortcomings. The GRAW map pack will delay this flourishing if it's released very soon. From a my perspective, this game is superior to GRAW because its FPWV eliminates the ubiquitous pop 'n shoot tactic. The knockdown-only system blows donkey, but at least it does force you to work in pairs. The variety of maps is... well, it isn't. But in general the framework for great siege/sector play is definitely there and I am optimistic about the future.

Look for Doja's room. If he's on AA, the room will be sector, or will be very shortly. I have never played ranked and don't think I would ever much want to.

This game got lost in the hype of so many other titles, Halo 3, COD4, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, etc etc

On top of that they also suffered from some very unfair reviews. Really unless you frequent one of the AA forums you're probably unaware of the potential that this game has.

I know personally I wasn't going to purchase it until I started reading the forums here and over at xbox.com

Also, most casual gamers prefer the nonstop action of a game such as COD4, even if it sacrifices realism. But, I still think the niche is large enough for this game to be successful, some more marketing would help, a quick patch, and hopefully some better reviews on the horizon.

I just ordered mine off of ebay, if I enjoy it I'll do my part by word of mouth.

Don't worry, every society needs a majority of slackers to pump the gas and clean the floors. Our recent material successes have just allowed them to start l33ting each other publicly. But don't worry, the smart people who get up early will always run the world, and these necessary morons are the tools they will use to sustain us in our old age.

I read something similar to that in a fortune cookie. I tried to explain it to some of my friends, they just can't get up early though. It might have something to do with them not leaving the the bar until 2:30 am. Smile The Xbox forum has proven useless to me too BTW.

Humm I never thought of it that way. Maybe there is hope for us yet.
