Keep it short and sweet and maybe we'll get a response. Your best 2 questions.
Example: 1-In MP, will we have only game types we know from Ghost Recon (like blind siege) or will we have some objectives to accomplish like in AA:ROAS? 2-We've seen mention of vehicles in interviews and achievements. Will we use these in MP to arrive at the combat zone (even if we aren't the ones driving)? No preaching, just good fan questions. |

Going to cheat and offer 2 more to keep things moving.
1)Will we be able to apply the skill/honor points from the game lobby, or do we have to back out to do so? Same for weapon modification? 2)We read that there is proximity voice for teammates, they have to be near each other to hear each other. If an enemy is near by, will they hear us? If so, in English or "durga durga" talk like in ROAS? |

Then so am I. 1) Will then character movements be as fast as they are in the videos, or have they been slowed down to a realistic level? 2) Will there be a sprint option that allows you to move faster for a short period of time at the expense of not being able to use your weapon and the obvious combat effectiveness decrease? |

Ok, just popping in to say hi and answer some of your questions. So here goes...
2 Questions from RawKryptonite Q: In MP, will we have only game types we know from Ghost Recon (like blind siege) or will we have some objectives to accomplish like in AA:ROAS? RG: There are classic, new, and evolved gametypes. Team Mission from GRAW2 has progressed and been redone as Squad Operations. Players must be sure to split their squad tactically, sending one team to assault the enemy intel and the other to discover the locations that must be marked. After these locations have been discovered, players must either defend these points, or fight through the enemy defending them and mark the location to be hit by an artillery strike later. The action ramps up when only one location remains to be marked and after this is accomplished the side marking that location must then extract before the enemy can stop them. Q: We've seen mention of vehicles in interviews and achievements. Will we use these in MP to arrive at the combat zone (even if we aren't the ones driving)? RG: There are vehicles in the game but they will not be ridden in or controlled by players. 2 Questions from Ring2 Q: Are the squads set or can you have as many of one class as you want? RG: Squads are not set as far as defined class types being forced on players. The Squad composition is up to the players on the squad/fire-team. However, in the lobby we do have everything broken out into Fire-Teams so you’ll know whether you are on Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, or Delta in Co-Op for instance. Q: Will we be able to drive the vehicles? RG: No, the title is focused on squad level infantry experience. 2 Questions from Jermtheory Q: Will there still be a seperate control for bringing up sights as opposed to scopes? RG: Depending on the weapon and the sight/scope/aimpoint you have attached, you will use the better of them. If you have an M16/A4 with an ACOG you will use the ACOG since it is superior to the iron sights. Q: Will the game have similar MP functionality to GRAW(as far as system link/LAN support including voice etc...)? RG: Yes, players without Xbox Live Gold will be able to play Split screen locally or through System Link/LAN. Link up two systems with 3 friends play system link and you can play as a Fire-Team throughout the Co-Op campaign. AI will be added to your fire-team in Co-Op up until you have 4 Human players on your side. So if you want to play through the Co-Op campaign with just you or with one other friend you will get 2 or 3 AI Soldiers to fill out your team. 2 Questions from TW_Night_Fox Q: Will you be able to advance to Special Forces ranks? RG: No, AA:TS does not currently have Special Forces ranks. Q: Will there be civilians in the campaign/co-op? RG: Yes, there are missions that feature Non-Combatants that will need to be protected from dangerous situations. You will need to take care to not shoot civilians when firing your weapons as well as not call in Artillery Strikes on areas potentially populated with Non-Combatants. 2 Questions from Screamin34gl3 and MAV1911(Combined since they were similar) Q: Will you be able to put custom features on your character? Goggles, gloves, glasses, ect... Will we be able to customize our characters in ways of balaclava, skin color, glasses/goggles, ammo pouch placement on vest, ect... RG: Yes, you can customize your character with a variety of goggles, glasses, and other eyewear. You can select from a variety of faces, camo patterns, etc… Q: Will there be loading when you switch to your pistol or go to throw a grenade like in GRAW? Will there be realistic weapon swaps, ie: I go to switch from primary to my sidearm, shouldn’t take me longer than 2 sec to let go of my rifle and get a proper sight picture on my pistol. RG: There is still a delay on swapping weapons and pulling out a grenade. You have to remember; pistols are holstered/secured so they will not fall out when moving, as are grenades when carried by a Soldier in their kit. It takes time to get your grenades out and ready to throw, in the case of the weapon swap, you secure your primary weapon before pulling out your sidearm. The times have been decreased from GRAW, though only slightly. 2 Questions from HMD5x56x45x Q: Could you clarify the system-link online play? Specifically can I system link and play on live with this game? RG: You can either play System Link or on Live. You will however be able to play 2 Player Split-screen in a Live match. Q: Will the all the same control features be available on split-screen? (IE: leaning, EX: In GRAW2 you can't lean in split-screen.) RG: Yes, all functionality is present in Split-screen and Full-screen. Controller functionality as well as all UI functions will remain present, though for screen space reasons the Blue Force Tracker UI border is removed in Split-screen but it does not hamper its use in the game. 2 Questions from XboxStryker Q: So, where is that demo you said would come out in October? RG: The AA:TS Demo is indeed coming very soon. It has always been intended to have the demo come out about 2 weeks before the launch of the game. Since the release date was pushed back, so was the release date of the demo. You’ll have the chance to give the game a try soon, perhaps really really soon! As in Tomorrow! Yeah, it's true, look for it to hit around 3am for those that are up that late. Q: You figure we'll be able to enjoy the game before Christmas? RG: Yes! If an enemy is near by, will they hear us? If so, in English or "durga durga" talk like in ROAS? RG: Yes, you will be heard by them and it will use the same language that they are actually speaking. Sorry, no Ghanzian translation in MP. Q: Will then character movements be as fast as they are in the videos, or have they been slowed down to a realistic level? RG: The character movement speed has been slowed down a bit from what you’ve seen in the videos that have been released so far. Q: Will there be a sprint option that allows you to move faster for a short period of time at the expense of not being able to use your weapon and the obvious combat effectiveness decrease? RG: Yes, Sprinting is in fact a feature in the game. Your gun will lower and you’ll be unable to fire while sprinting. Sprinting is controlled by the Physical Training attribute in the Soldier Development System so the distance you can run and how fast you can recover is determined by your level. Physical Training also allows you to carry more gear/ammo so we think it will be a popular skill to max out. Real Quick... The demo gives no access to the Soldier Development System, so everyone will have the same base character to use. The demo Soldier has maxed out Marksmanship, and a couple of levels in each of the remaining 4 attributes. |

I appreciate you taking the time to address our questions. Great news about the demo too, I guess it'll be either a long night or an early morning for me now--but a short day at work. RE: Can you clarify the MP game types being classic/new/evolved? Do you mean in terms of Ghost Recon game types or AA:ROAS? For instance, will we have a team defending a downed chopper and captured pilot while the other team is charged with blowing up the chopper and rescuing the pilot? Objectives of that nature, not areas on a map to capture. Thanks again for keeping up with the community, looking forward to getting my hands on this game. |
