I like the demo and I think there are way more good things about it than bad but 1 bad thing I have noticed is that you can be what ever you want so there could be all snipers or grenadiers I like how it was in ROS. That is just my opinion. What do you guys think?

They need to fix the **** on multiplayer. you shoot someone and you can't kill them. they have to bleed out. what kind of **** is that? how the hell is this supposed to be realistic if I can go up and finish someone off? bull****. absolute ****.
and why the hell does our entire room keep being dropped when someone drops an artillery strike? our host has a FiOs connection. 1meg upload. REDSTORM YOU HAVE YOUR WORK CUT OUT FOR YOU. I HOPE YOU FIX THESE ISSUES BEFORE THE TITLE COMES OUT OR I'M NOT BUYING IT. |
||||
|
Yeah what is wrong with the connections. But I think the incapacitated state is even better (I know this sounds sick) but I like how they roll around it is better than in ROS and they should keep it like that. Does anyone know how to lean I haven't figured it out yet, but I think I tried to press the left right on the d-pad but I'm not sure.

but it's messed up when you shoot someone and they fall, then you run up on them and shoot them to FINISH THEM OFF AND IT DOES NOTHING. YOU PUT A FRAG ON THEM IT DOESNT KILL THEM. WHAT THE HELL. THIS IS RETARDED.

redstorm, please fix this on the full version. everyone i've played online with tonight already said if it's like this on the full version they will not buy it. Everyone is talking about only renting the game.

I noticed that myself. You shoot them center of mass but would be only wounded and you couldn't finish them off. That is a concern.

im glad i got gamefly. i'm renting this. if they dont fix it, i'm sending the game back and getting something else. the original america's army is far better than this. i seriously thought with redstorm making this one that it would be better. but i guess Zombie Studios is just a better game developer than Redstorm. In a way I am happy though that Zombie didn't do this title this time around, because they are working on ROGUE WARRIOR, AND THAT IS GOING TO BE THE BEST GAME EVER.
Redstorm has just lost it's touch. if the next ghost recon is anywhere near what this game is like, no one is going to bother buying another redstorm game. i swear, everyone that i've talked to on the demo has said the same thing, this game shouldnt release for another year, it still has ALOT OF WORK LEFT TO BE DONE. |

this game is horrible. I thought this game would be realistic. But you can't kill anyone in a shooter? Its beyond retarded. Other than that the game is good, but not being able to kill anybody ruins the game.
I'm not buying it. thank god i didn't preorder |

Bad:
Graphics suck, sounds dont match the animnations, the whole GRAW-like movement thing doesnt work so well in FPV, the weapons dont operate, look or sound realisticly and (atleat I)cant use artey/airstrikes in COOP and cant give any orders to AI teammates. Good: Shooting bad guys=always satisfying, AI on both friendly & enemy sides is good. Having civis mixed with enemies feels realistic but other than that I fail to see anything else being "true-to-life" other than gear/weapons, and I mean the basic look of them, not specifics. Overall: Dissapointed but happy that I will save 60 bucks since Nov is crowded with releases. Makes you wonder why they delayed, delayed & delayed the game when it seems as if translation from GRAW2 wasnt effort-demanding. What ever happened to the original america's army style of shooting. on this game you pull the weapon up to look down the sites and its like the weapon doesn't even weigh a pound. the original, the weapon would slightly sway, and you have to get your shots right or you would miss completely. i miss the original america's army.

Four thumbs up here.. A few rough edges with the graphics, but excellent gameplay in "True Soldiers" mode. Spray & pray will get you nowhere. Actually it'll get you dead. Snipers can rule much of the map, but you'd better be a good shot since you're using a bolt-action rifle and only get a few shots before having to reload. Smoke is very effective. Sprint speed seems to me to be around the same as walking speed in GRAW 2.
The map in the demo has lots of open areas, hills, and long sight lines. There are only a couple of areas that have the "twisty little passage syndrome" that plagues GRAW/GRAW2 maps. We played a bunch of co-op which took some practice because you can't set the mission timer any longer than 10 minutes in the demo. With 16 players working in teams to take the two main objectives simultaneously we managed to beat it once, and then missed beating it on "pro" difficulty by no more than 10 seconds. The UAV in co-op is great - it circles over the map and you can tune into a live video feed at any time. Then a few rounds of survival and whatever sharpshooter is called, both of which led to some tense firefights across and around the bridges. |

The game doesnt have jamming weapons does it?

I think the graphics are very good.
You can't kill a downed soldier due to ROE, just like it was in AA:ROAS. The host has the option to change the bleed out time, so talk to your host if you are unhappy, or host yourself. Personally, I like it and it can play to your strategy. Loving the game. Some notes though: -Bug: reloading and then switching weapon (I think that's when this happened) can lock you into being able to move, but not change standing position (crouch, prone, upright) and you can't shoot/reload for a while. Goes away, but you're out of commission until it does -Bug: we had a guy on blue team but in the lobby he showed gold but on the blue team side. In game it was correct though. Just showed the wrong color for his team in the lobby. -Bug: couple guys couldn't get into the (private) room with invites. All NAT's checked out as open. Shut room down and reopened and it was fine. Maybe some other conflict with someone else already in the room? Don't know. -Request: firm up movement some. Has that drunken movement from GRAW, although it doesn't feel as bad in first person. Still, it would be nice to not sway and skate when moving so much. -Request: does seem to take quite a few shots to put someone down with M16 or sniper. Weapon power could be increased to be more realistic IMO. -Request: please limit each individual fire team to 1 sniper OR 1 grenadier. (not team, FIRE team) Others can be open IMO. Doesn't really make sense to leave that open. Not realistic and also not good for the sake of game play. Overall, I'm very impressed with the job RSE has done here. True Soldier mode with no respawns really is the way to go with the game. AI seems really beefed up from GR and pretty good. Well, not the idiot pilots we were defending, they tended to wander out into the middle of the map for some reason. Otherwise, the AI seems tough. Graphics/lighting are very nice. Host features are familiar if you've been hosting GRAW2. I love the dragging a soldier back to safety for first aid. It's also just fast enough in grabbing them to drag them out. Artillery strikes are just plain FUN but not overpowering. I think the gun handling is much improved. It's not rock steady; it shouldn't be, but it's not out of control like it was in ROAS. Very nicely done. I love the comm situation too BTW, as well as flagging players on your team with their fire team designation so they can stay together. Pay attention in the lobby so you know which to stick with! LOL Will we be able to unlock the M4 for players other than the team leader? Having that with the ACOG makes a huge difference at this point. I know we later unlock a scope for the M16 (not sure when though) but it would be nice to be able to equip regular riflemen with an M4, even if not the grenadiers. Looking forward to seeing more of this game when it comes out and checking out the other game modes. Will post any other bugs that pop up. |

The Raven on COOP is really cool. I'll give them that. I like the live video feed. I also like the fact that you have to be close to talk, you can hear the enemy if they are close, and holding down x for the squad leaders allows ALPHA,BRAVO,CHARLIE,and DELTA to communitcate from accross the map. It really gets rid of the constant chatter from having people talk about whats going on across the map when you are trying to talk to your guys about whats going on your end of the map. I also like how when the squad leader is talking to the other squad leaders, the other soldiers dont hear what is being said. I think though that should be reversed. When talking to another SL i don't want to hear my own squad talking. makes it hard to hear the communication.
I do also like the drag feature. its nice to be able to drag someone out of the kill zone and heal them in safety. Another complaint I have, I tried to change my headgear, but when I was in the game, my headgear was at the default? This happened to everyone in the room. Why do you show us the headgear, but don't acually let us use it? I know it's the demo, but it makes me feel like the full version might just have that glitche. |

|
And I also noticed, that just like in Ghost Recon, you still cant step down from a 5inch drop. I was trying to back up and got stuck on a 5 inch ledge. 5 INCHES? Now that's not very realistic?
Lots and lots of work to be done on this game. Redstorm, keep delaying it, you are no where near being finished with this game. Now granted this is just the demo, but it's a really poor first impression. |

I had that happen once.. I have no idea how I triggered it. It was during a reload, but I know I wasn't switching weapons.
We saw that once too.. He hit 'y' and it went away in the lobby.
I only used the sniper in co-op so I can't speak for adversarial..But it consistently downed people in 1-2 shots and a head shot was a kill. I used the M16 in adversarial in burst mode and had no problems taking people down with a center-mass shot.
And remember when you're doing that, SMOKE IS YOUR FRIEND!! I know I pissed off a couple of snipers with that...
Everything I've read so far says "no".. But if I read the in-game description correctly unlocking the M16 with ACOG is just a matter of completing one of the missions so it's really not that big a deal. But yeah with the iron sights you really have to lean on the squad leader for IFF at times. Also I noticed that the settings that I selected before entering a game didn't carry over - I had to reset everything like inverted y-axis. |

Come to think of it, that bad lock up I had was reloading and I think I hit the right bumper to lean at the same time. I remember walking like I had a bad back leaning left. LOL
Pretty sure the reloading was part of it both times it happened, but the 2nd time it didn't last long, maybe 5 seconds. The first time was about 20 seconds. I never lost my inverted Y axis, and never had to reset that. My 360 profile has that set in it for default, maybe that's why? I think I lost my appearance profile when we shut down the first room and reopened, but I figured that was typical for most demos not to save a profile. No one else mentioned it. I'll be happy to get the scope on the M16. That'll change how the game is played some. For now, you're largely at the mercy of the M4 and snipers. |

BUT YOU CAN'T GET INSTANT KILLS IN MULTIPLAYER. THAT IS NOT PART OF RULES OF ENGAGEMENT. |

Pros:
* I like it and have had some great fun already * Co-Op is fun and feels much more solid than GRAW2 * Guns/Iron sights are good * lean isn't overdone/fake like MOH: Airborne but still allows fine positioning around corners * A couple squad games I played were very strategic and felt deep with the airstrike adding to the intesity * Being awarded to heal and "leave no soldier behind" creates some awesome tactical siuations and weeds out selfish players * I really like level designs so far * AI seems pretty good so far(the enemies that rally up in the truck on co-op got me excited) * I was going to go to bed, but after talking about I want to play some more. Cons: * limitations of demo only give you a taste of what the final game will be like * 10 min max time limits with 3 artillery strikes can create too much chaos * unable to play campaign/co-op mission in a tactical way, if you want to get further into the level, have to run/gun because of time limit * lots of whining online by people who probably won't buy the game, because it's not Halo3/COD4 * some lag issues |
