Airs tonight Sunday, 9pm ET/PT, on the Spike Channel.

Too bad AA:TS wasn't nominated for Best Military Game. They need a category for Best Simulation Game.

No spoilers please. I think the VGA already happened and they are only airing tonight?

Yeha, I think it already happened. If AA:TS isn't going to be in it then this is off-topic.

Spolier warning: AA:TS didn't win the "Most Addictive Game Fueled by Mountain Dew" category either. Roll Eyes

But they are promising to show a new trailer for R6 Vegas 2 so I'll be Tivoing it and skipping the other 119 minutes.

just like movies. its the most recent game that gets the best chances. also game play has nothing to do with any of the nominations.

Yeah, It's always the big games that win, or the devs/publishers who pay.

I think if there was a Best Simulation Game category AA:TS could have been in there along with uhmm Ace Combat, Guitar Hero, and the like.

I think Forza 2 would easily have taken the Sim category...

No dash view = not a sim. Wink
Dirt got that down pat, but they loosened up on other parts of the game.

Forza 2 is an amazing simulation. Can't believe Madden won over NBA 2k8 as well, bad show by those two games not winning awards.

I take it you're being facetious.

Forza2 is an awsome sim. They certainly put their priorities/effort in the right place: physics & frame-rate.

I feel AA:TS (and RoaS) are similar. The emphasis is put on teamwork and gameplay rather than pretty graphics, exotic weapons or third person views.

Games like these may not awards, but they're definite winners in my book. Its probably a good thing that AA isn't winning awards or getting tons of press. As far as the community goes, bigger does not neccessarily equal better. Growing the community by word of mouth will bring quality players while the general masses pass it by.

Off-topic: The original DOOM for PC started out as a share-ware program, that you could DL the first couple levels (first three if I remember correctly), for free. If you wanted the rest, you had to purchase and DL it. BTW, this was back when everyone was on dial-up, I think 56K modems were just making it onto the scene. The only way you could get it was through DL, you couldn't even buy it in stores, yet it was hugely successful.

One of my buds had a great suggestion the other day. Make AA:TS cheaper and available via XBL download. That would probably up the number of players.

I don't have a problem with the mouthbreathers playing AA, my guys need "someone" to shoot.. :-)

Heh, just keep them out of co-op please. We've got enough Rambos already. I swear there's one guy I keep running into who TRIES to get away from his squad when he's the team leader. I think the RoE should be updated to allow summary execution of these "deserters". Mean Happy

And the guy whose room I ran into last night who does nothing but tell everybody how to play the game "correctly" even when the room is full of Sergeants First Class and Master Sergeants .. Googly

Oh and I also had to kneecap a PFC who wouldn't come to the extraction point at the end of mission 6. He must have been messed up already because it killed him outright. Crying

I think he was in your room last Friday when we were playing. He would take off from the start like a bat out of hell and constantly be at least 50 yards ahead of everyone else on the map. He also NEVER spoke to the other team leaders.

Veryhappy Hammer
