Why can't we kill anyone? is there some kind of parental control on this game. they just get wounded and you can't finish them off. its flat out retarded. i'm not buying this game unless this is fixed on the full version. you only end up with a bunch of people rolling around wounded. you throw a grenade at them, you run up and shoot them and they dont die. WHY DO WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR THEM TO BLEED OUT? ITS STUPID.
The biggest dissapointment is, there are no INSTANT KILLS. No matter what you do to them when they are fighting you, they don't die. It's just an automatic wounded opponent. grenade wont kill them, artillery strike wont kill them, and a bullet to the head wont kill them. what's the point of trying to kill your enemy if no matter how hard you try to kill them, they just end up wounded. that is the biggest problem i have seen so far. to make things even worse. you drop one artillery strike and the whole room lags out. with bad graphics like this, this game should never lag out. why have artillery strikes, when the room is only going to lag out. i have a 1 meg upload and only 6 people in the room. its stupid.
redstorm has done it again, messed up another title. the original america's army was way better than this ****. |

Then if that's the case, then this game will not sell.
And why is it when I'm down on coop, the enemy comes up to me and shoots me, but I don't die? why is that. will they get court martialed too for killing a wounded U.S. soldier? Also MeanMF, why is it that I don't die, or the enemy doesn't die from a head shot? Or a grenade blast? or the most deadly of all AN ARTILLERY STRIKE? Multiplayer is going to suck if we have to wait for the enemy to bleed out. Justifying it with rules of engagement just don't cut it. Nice try though. |

I'm not trying to justify it - I'm just telling you why it's that way in the game. If you violate the ROE you lose the game outright as well. The Army paid for development of the game - they're obviously not going to want their soldiers running around violating the Geneva Conventions.
In any case, watching over a downed enemy and blasting anybody foolish enough to come rescue him is way more fun anyway. |

Observing ROE is part of an AA game. The host can set the time to 15 seconds though if you want. No big deal IMO, I like the way it works. Not everyone dies instantly when they're shot. I agree with MeanMF--make it work for you. It adds a lot to the game IMO.
I didn't have any drops or issues with arty strikes etc. If your connection is good, maybe someone else in the room was having issues? |

Yeah but shooting their whole team and having to wait for them to bleed out is not.
If I shoot a combatant, who is firing at me, in the head, they should die. Not drop to the ground and bleed out. If I put multiple rounds into their chest, they should die, not drop to the ground and bleed out. If I target someone with an artillery strike, and get a direct hit, they should die, not fall to the ground and roll around. If I throw a grenade right next to someone, most likely, they should die. Why is it that I can shoot and kill the AI in coop, but when I shoot someone on multiplayer they don't die? They just drop to the ground and bleed out. MeanMF, answer those questions. |

no in multiplayer NO ONE DIES INSTANTLY. you said "not everyone dies instantly" that's way off. NO ONE DIES INSTANTLY IN MULTIPLAYER. I've been trying to explain it, but some people just dont understand it. |

We've played the demo too, we understand. Just saying not to worry about it--that's just how the game is going to be as an AA game.

NO you don't understand. it wasn't like that on America's Army: Rise of a Soldier. I played it on PC, I played it on XBOX. the game had instant kills. Redstorm came, bought the title and now we have NO INSTANT KILLS IN MULTIPLAYER.

I hosted games, tried every setting possible. Still can't get over sniping a guy in the head he falls behind cover then gets healed knows excactly where I am and tells his budies. I just want a realistic shooter. Whats the point of having a sniper class If head shots do nothing. I was playing sharpshooter, the whole other team is on their sniper hill I flank them with a budy run up and shoot 4 of them just to run out of ammo and get shoot by the last 2, then they heal all 4 guys. they then continue to camp on that hill, I continue to try and kill them and get a few only to get back to the lobby and have 10 kills and negative 80 points. If these points give better stats and riffles and your getting negative points for separating to take out a sniper how would anyone except a camper get any points?
A shooter that you can't kill people in is about the dumbest thing I've heard of. What, some major some day says, I know how to make us some money and recruits make a "realistic" fisrt person shooter. But here's the kicker. You can't kill anybody. Only mame Is this some kinda sick joke? |

ROE? If someone falls down on a battle field and the army knows all he needs is a budy to touch him for 5 seconds and he's just like new and shooting back at them. The army would shoot the hell out of the guy as he's rolling around on the groung. The army shoots a man until he's no longer a threat. Not possible in this game.
Anyone looking for an army sim/ realistic shooter expects a headshot to kill, not to knock down and have a chance to be healed later. This game is about as realistic as Halo and DonkyKong. My whole clan from GRAW was looking forward to this game. We are all disapointed and some down right mad. I wish I would of known you can't kill people I wouldn't have got my hopes up. |

I found your problem: you were playing sharpshooter. If you want realistic, then drop the Lazarus effect. You say you can't kill anyone, but that's what respawn games are built on. Play with no respawns and things change. Have the host cut the bleed out to 15 seconds and you won't see many getting healed. Ghost: sorry, but the game is incredible. |

Want to know why you can't kill people when they are wounded? This is Article 3 of the Geneva Convention. (from wikipedia)
"Noncombatants, combatants who have laid down their arms, and combatants who are hors de combat (out of the fight) due to wounds, detention, or any other cause shall in all circumstances be treated humanely, including prohibition of outrages upon personal dignity, in particular humiliating and degrading treatment." "Courage is fear holding off for a minute longer." -General Patton ____________ Useful Links: Forum Rules These two are for laughs: link and link My videos: WFD, Firefighter's Wishes, and A Firefighter's Life |

While seemingly not tying bleed out into the conditioning/stamina stat like ROS did, and seemingly having no instant kills (everyone gets wounded to bleed out before dieing) is disappointing I still found the game very fun. Take into consideration the source of some of those people posting in other forums about how bad AA is. Some of them couldn't even figure out how to turn things on and off when setting up a game. Look at it this way, with the bleed out system, teams that stick together like they should are greatly rewarded by being able to heal each other. Yes, there should be instant kills, I agree with that, but this does add an interesting game dynamic. ------------------------------- "I just blew your mind, didn't I? Agreed. Some made up their minds weeks ago, from what I've seen on Ubi forums and the Xbox forums. Not saying the game is perfect, but they got the bones of it right and most of the details. A good idea for everyone to do is to go into the game and check out the host options. Even if you don't have the connection to host, see what's available and then you get a better idea of what's changing your game experience--the game or the host. I think we played most of the night with a 30 or 45 second bleed out. I'll probably inch down to 15 to see what's best. I think a shorter time will probably work out better, but there still needs to be time to toss smoke and drag them back. Maybe we'll get a tweak for a headshot kill in MP? Still a great game with a lot going for it. |
