Yes, definitely. If this game didn't exist it would be SOF4 or COD4, and ultimately more GRAW2 because it is tactical and I know I would be back to after playing those run and guns... none of which seem nearly as appealing now that I've been playing AA:TS. Great job and thank you. Thumbs Up

I've been having a great time playing the Demo and can't seem to get enough of it. I'll definitely be picking up the game soon.
Thanks for bringing AA to the 360! Thumbs Up

I'm loving it so far. I haven't had a chance to play much online yet other than the demo, but the emphasis on teamwork and squad tactics really makes it unique on the 360. I've seen a lot of people comparing it to COD4 since they both came out around the same time, but other than both being military-themed I don't think they have much of anything in common. There are some rough edges to be sure, but nothing that's game-killing.

I'd love to see some of the things from this game carried over to the next GR as part of a "hardcore mode" - 1st person view, no HUD, etc. The big open maps are great - GR could definitely use more of those as well.

Thoroughly enjoying the game!
I still have issues with the movement, and I wish the game mode from AA:ROAS with true objectives was in here, but this game beats GRAW2 hands down. I too hope that the next GR will be based on this: taken seriously, soldier training customization, first person, no crosshairs, the HUGE maps (this is what we've been wanting for a long time) and generally slower, patient game play. I VERY MUCH prefer a normal walk with a limited sprint to the constant fast-walk in GRAW.

You guys did a great job. There are those 2 main points I think should have gotten some attention, but this really is a great game. We also got more maps than expected, which was a NICE surprise...and GOOD maps too! Big and open, we'll have to be careful on blind siege/squad sector random...whatever it is. LOL

Congrats on putting out a shooter not really like any others on the 360. Even being based on GRAW, it doesn't play the same (in a good way).

I am really digging it too. There are things that they dropped that were in RoAS that I wish they would have kept. Like the objectives that Raw mentioned. However it is still the best thing going right now and I will take what I can get.. I will be playing this game a lot in the coming months..

I like the game a lot. I have only 2 complaints so far. First, fully automatic and burst fire are way too accurate, making single shots from an M16 or M4 almost always a bad choice. In real life, it is just the opposite.

And second, The final boss Opfor in the training missions are causing me to replay the 15 minute training missions over and over again until I give up. It's a bit annoying.

Other than that, the game is good. Especially the multiplayer. I like this game better than COD4.

If your'e talking about the MOUT training, what happened to me was that there was 1 OPFOR soldier left (he was stuck around the corner of one of the buildings) after several minutes I finally went on my own to flush him out. As soon as I plunked him, the mission ended successfully.

No, I'm stuck on the Black Cat night mission with the M203. It takes 15 minutes to get to the end where the armored car appears and guns us all down in two seconds. Mission fail. Retry. Mission fail...

Not trying to use the M203 for all kills are you? Even though the missions are centered around a weapon, grenades are still a great tool in most of these missions. If necessary, take cover and chunk a few.

Yeah those trucks are annoying. Smoke works well, but you have to be very quick and precise with it. I'm trying to go through the training missions on Pro difficulty and I'm really learning to hate the friendly squad AI. At least in GRAW I could order them to sit behind a wall and not get shot. Private Davis apparently likes shiny objects..so whenever he sees a tank he feels the need to run towards it. Razz

I'm seeing that there are a parts of this game that are better than ROAS.

-The gun wavering in ROAS was grossly overdone. In TS, even before you apply points it can be dealt with and you can shoot.

-Recoil is much better in TS. Guns in ROAS had entirely too much.

-You have True Soldier mode...no red dots over heads. Instead of artificial means of increasing observation/stealth, you have to actually be perceptive and stealthy. This wasn't even an option in ROAS.

-In ROAS, your honor/valor was too big a factor, your soldier freaked out too much.

-Basically, the skills are still a factor, but they're tweaks, not game changing and imbalancing players too much.

-In ROAS, unless playing a SF map, or as sniper, you had iron sights. I *love* how you can have the ACOG and red dot on the guns now. Also good, you unlock these in SP, not based on MP.

-Co-op missions. I enjoyed the missions in ROAS, but there was no co-op. The campaign missions here are very good (when it doesn't drop the other players). Also playing locally with 3 AI is fun. The CT shooting ranges are fun in a group too.

-The maps! Although the game objectives were better in ROAS, the maps weren't. There were a few stars, such as the Airstrip (with the Hind, radio tower etc), Seach & Rescue with the Blackhawk, but for the most part these maps are better and much bigger.

-The team vs enemy proximity isn't as good since it doesn't translate to a different language, but within the team I think it's better. I like using proximity within the team, and radios between the fire team leaders.

-***THIS IS A BIG ONE: we can change maps without shutting down the room.

-A room of 16 is much nicer than the small number that could play a room in ROAS (8? 10? I forget)

-Customizable weapons. ROAS you had to rank up to SF to customize an M4, but even then it only got used on certain maps. TS is nicer in that you can use your optics anytime anywhere.

-In ROAS, to use the SAW, or the M4 over distance, you had to lie down AND drop your bipod for adequate stability. That's a bit much to get a steady shot. Lying down should be enough, I think TS treats this much better.

-You can call in arty strikes off of the map, and have to judge distance visually to match up to the map. In ROAS, you used the binoculars, which wavered and sometimes wouldn't let you call in a strike. It also took a while to mark for the strike, leaving you very vulnerable. Additionally, the strikes now are more focused, not covering as large an area as in ROAS. Better for game play so it won't be abused too much. The timer between calling in strikes is also good, in ROAS you could call in 3 that would come in back to back, blanketing a large area.

There are things that ROAS had that aren't here that would be nice, but TS has it's advantages too.

Also notable: this is a Ubi shooter that has NOTHING to do with Mexico. Clap bow

Excellent post RawKryptonite. Well though out. Thanks for listing out the positives in such detail. That list is pretty deep and I think it's easy to overlook when so many posts are dealing with glitches, problems and peoples opinions of "what should have been" (myself included).

Dispite this game's issues, I am enjoying it more the more I play it.

That is true though RAW. TS has improved from ROAS now come to think of it. TS does have major advantages over ROAS. Didn't everyone wish there was co-op in ROAS and to be able to keep the room going? hehe.
