Big fan of RvS here - Looking at my profile, my registration was in '04. Back when 1000s of people were playing RvS and there were heated discussions on the forums about iron sights and the buggy G36k!

I recently re-purchased RvS and have been playing on the servers. It's good to see people still playing...

My question is this: RvS is the best MP game I have ever played, some of the original maps were brilliant, and have great memories from the matches I've played: What modern games (2007 - present) exist similar to RvS?

I still play RvS and I will continue to do so while there are people to shoot at. But I would idealy like an 2009/10 version of RvS or similar.

P.S, games I have tried but don't like:

OFP Dragon Rising (**** mp, no dedi servers etc)
Americas Army (too clunky)
Delta force (looks worse than the orignal CS)


Be cool to hear from some RvS fans opinions on what games are good to play these days, such a shame UBIsoft can't cater to people like me, I would happily part with my hard earned cash for another RvS, twice over!

Dragon Rising was a big disappointment.
I'm glad I held off on buying it when Codemasters cancelled the demo.

I doubt there is a comparable game at present, and don't see anything coming up soon.

Some claim that Arma 2 might be close, but from what I have read it is buggy right now.
I tried the demo and the control setup is a nightmare.

I would suggest trying the demo and draw your own conclusion.
The demo is nearly 3 GB.
