So Rogue Spear runs just fine on my dedicated Win98 machine but I wanted to play it on main XP32 box. That XP shakefix didn't work for me so I started uninstalling stuff and pulling hardware. Here's what a found.

Any Creative soundcard with the latest driver build made Rogue Spear shake and original Ghost Recon shutter. I tried my XiFi Gamer, XiFi Audio, and Audigy 2 ZS and the results were consistently jittery across the board.

The good news is that Rogue Spear and Ghost Recon ran just as smooth as the 98 machine with my Asus Xonar DX1 and with my HT Omega Striker. Strange I know but worth a shot if you're getting desperate and you have a different brand of soundcard lying around.

Also if you do have to use a Creative soundcard under XP32, make sure your monitor is running at 60hz refresh and your video card VSYNC is on.

It seems like the screen shake goes away with Creative soundcards as long as you keep your frames per second to 60.
