Have tried RS on my windows xp system. Installation goes without problem, however when I start game I get the flash screen but nothing more. I used the typical installtion option and I know my cd unit is mapped to E (Factory setting) is this a problem with read back to the disc looking for a cd at D?

You need to enable compatibillity mode to run RS in XP.
so right click on the RS short cut on your desktop or where ever the exe file is and then click properties, then click compatibillity, you need to check the box to get it to run. He With Flair Wins www.the22nd.com - RSE is making GR2 - There is both 1st person and 3rd person views - You cant control vehicles - There is a medic that can apply aid to fallen soldiers - You only control 1 squad not 3 as in GR1. |

I install souge spear no prob but when i run the game the graphics suck my teammates eyes are purple, tha glass isn't transparent, the smoke form my grenades is 1d. please help.

The problem you have is that you have rommel corruption, this can occur if you download a lot of maps for rogue spear or sometimes for no reason at all. In either case go to www.team-majestic.com and download "Rommelfix", thats you sorted. Anyone that cannot run a rainbow six prior to R6-3 on windows XP needs to set the games in compatibility mode. To do this, find the game, right click on the icon and select compatibility, then set compatibility to windows 98. Remember, R6 games (aside R6-3) were all made prior to winXP, therefore they were never designed to. As a footnote, Urban Ops has some issues with XP service pack 2 and might not work in any case. Hi guys I have problems getting Rainbow 6 working on my system i have winxp prof service pack2
 kompability mode has only the effect that i get an error message from the rainbow6.exe instead of the message nt not supportet i have the original cd in my drive so that should be no problem and another question plz what's more fun to play better Rainbow six or rainbow six rogue spear black thorn i've bought these cds last week... black thorn works thanks anyway  |

Hi, hope somebody could give me some info please.
Just bought the original R6 pack, and i'm having similar problems as above. the instalaion was succesful can start the games with no problem even without CD in the drive. where it fails is; when I move my mouse everything surrounding the cursor goes blur, well maybe part of the game (I don't think so) and when I start a mission the whole screen is jumping, so much that you get dizzy watching it. Downloaded patches, set the compatibily mode to 95 than 98, but nothing..... also tried to set a higher res than 680x480 but won't change. I'm using an AMD FX-55 on a nforce based mobo 1024MB ram and a GF6800GT Win XP SP2 |

ok I have windows xp but i try to install rogue spear and it won't bring up the instalation window or anything. It'll bring up the list of choices but when i click on "Install Rogue Spear" it doesn't do anything. Why and what can I do.

Hey guys,
When I get to my customers house I will try both the setup and the game icon with comp. mode. He says setup is taking forever. Finally got through it but graphics are corrupt (main menu is FUBAR) I am thinking a driver issue. GF 5500 256M AGP XP Pro sp2 nf3-250 chipset 1Gb RAM. Are these all OpenGL games? Thanks |

Awsome news I about to resurrect them all on my XP pro. If you wouldnt mind some support for a brother Id appreciate it. Im new to XP and could not get BT to work on 2000. I was just looking around hoping to find a thread just like think. Guys I need help!!!! I have wasted alot of hours tring to get these to work . this is my last try. I got windows xp, sp1 and sp2 and everything works fine, but the glasses are purple and my mouse if i move it i see copy's of it

It's possibly been asked before, but is there ANY way to get rid of the menu mouse lag in RS under XP? (You know, when you click something in the menu (in the pre mission planning phase, like assinging operatives or switching floors in the map), it drops to 1-2 fps for 2-3 seconds.)  |

With xp problems try this:
1. Place the cd in you cd rom drive. 2. If automatic installation starts, close this creen. 3. Open the windows 'Start Menu'. 4. Open 'Programs'. 5. Open 'Accesories'. 6. Click on 'Wizard Programm Compatiblity' in order to start this programm. 7. Choose 'Next'. 8. Choose 'I want to use the programm on the cd in the cd rom drive'. 9. Choose 'Next'. 10. Choose 'Windows 98 / Windows ME'. 11. Choose three times 'Next'. 12. The installationscreen of the game will show now, Follow the instructions on your screen in order to install te game. 13.
