Yes! They aren' Might and Magic! In Dark Messiah you cannot make own character, there are only 1 actor, its an action game and NOT RPG, it don't let us to go to the city for shopping or do sub-quests... it has nothing to do with Might and Magic! Maybe TESCO economical Might and Magic!

It wound be realy good if someone don't follow the actualy "craze/sítlerage/fashion" and make a true RPG, not an action game!

Yeah, it's not an RPG per se. But that's why it's called Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Not Might and Magic X. Do you get the point?

The reason it wasn't an RPG is why they named it Dark Messiah not just Might and Magic X. There is nothing wrong with that and it was the best solution. So that means you're on a quite meaningless crusade here.

Now if it were named as Might and Magic X, THEN you should get vocal. Hell, everyone would get vocal about that

Oak's right (this time.... ). The game also has some backstory from previous M&M games from what I've read. I wouldn't know though, I never played any M&M game myself.

You both have good points, but the gameplay is nice and multyplayer is fun.
The storyline has nothing or little to do with previous M&M games.
You would be right to complain if the name was M&M X, BUT ITS NOT
I miss the clasics like "For Blood and Honor" and the 3DO games, Baulders gate, all the old games that were so fun but people dont bother to play today because they are so low tech.

I suggest to call it jsut Dark Messiah, but not Dark Messiah of Might and Magic becuse...

-Might and Magic is an RPG, and Dark Messiah is an action game, so it has nothing to do with Might and magic.
-Dark Messiah' storylien is amse as Homm 5's storyline, and Homm 5's stroyline has nothing to do with Homm storyline and M&M storyline!
-It contains to few monsters (about 15 monsters and nothing more), while Might and Magic tontains more then 100 kinds of monsters!
-Dark Messaih (even is its name is Dark Messiah of Might and Magic) doesen' reminds me to Might and Magic.

Though I have not played the other M&M games I have to disagree, As far as I am aware M&M is just the world/universe type thing that the games happen to be set in, and there was never a rule that There should only be RPG related M&M games. True, but that's not the point. IMHO.

yes, dark messiah is an action game.
But, it has some RPG elements in to it, like for an example; you can choose to be warrior assasin or wizard, and you get points to add to your character when completed various tasks.

havent played all Heroes of Might and Magic games but, do they all follow a storyline? or is it a new story per game?
if not, theres nothing to worry about

Homm 5 is Homm 5, it has same system as Heroes of Might and Magic (same creatures and spells, just renamed)

While Dark Messiah has nothing to do with Might and Magic...

Yes it does. It's in the current Might and Magic world. As much as I hate that fact it's irreversible.

To me DM would be the same awesome game if it were called Dark Messiah of Light and Tragic. I don't care about the RPG Might & Magics, never played them, i'm a fps gamer.
