Hi, In DM;MM Singleplayer, i experience huge lags at some places at some times. I think it's random, but it could be place-bound. I Have a good pc with vista, (4GB RAM, 9600GT, Vista 64-bits), I already read all your posts about a new version of Steam. (yes, i'm playing the steam version), but it doesnt help. I also tried redownloading.

I hope there's a solution for this.

*Edit: When i try to continue playing with the low fps, most of the times the game crashes into a black screen, Only way to stop it then is to Ctrl+Alt+Delete, After, Vista says: Problem caused by Half-Life 2 Engine.

*Edit: I remembered defragmenting, I'm doing so now.
*Edit: Doesn't help, I think now its placebound, If i lag somewhere and i restart, I start lagging almost immediatly.

1. Make sure you have Vista SP1 and all windows updates after that.

2. Back up your games (copy the steamapps folder with contents into an Archive folder somewhere on your PC),
then
completely uninstall Steam via Programs and Features.

Download and install the latest Steam installer from HERE (at the left click "Get Steam Now").
Configure Steam.
Look in My Games to confirm that all your games are greyed out.
Close Steam (also from system tray next to the Windows clock).
Open your empty new steamapps folder, and
in a new window open your archived old steamapps and
copy the complete contents into the new one.
Wouldn't hurt to reboot the PC.
Open Steam > My Games list. Complete all games, one by one (shpould be a matter of seconds, to a few minutes.
On each game > right-click > Properties > Local Content > Validate Integrity
and
Defragment.

Should be solved now.
