Here´s some info that should be considered if you are gonna make a dark messiah 2. The game is too hard even for a hard core gamer like me, im 35 years old and have walkthroughed dozens of games.
It´s too hard to find stuff, keys, weapons, health potions. There is only one way to go through chapters, if you don´t figure it out you get seriously stucked in chapters. More freedom. |

this is the same difficult playing as the first Hexen (even if you're 35 yo, I bet you never played it)
I've to admit Xana could hint you about "watch those spiders behind the corner!", but if so why bother playing? |

Dark Messiah isn't hard, it is first game in many years which was intrested me enough to play it through, I didn't need no walkthough, becouse there is Xana helping you

Wow John: you even get stuck "walkthroughing" a game! You're not a hardcore gamer, hardly a gamer at all; try to play a game properly and someday you might start to become one. ==================================================== PMs with tech questions are ignored xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx BlindNero Forums for online Dark Messiah MM and other games support |

Maybe he means that every game he has played has been very hard, but still it doesn't make you hardcore gamer, first you need to finish games without cheating and be able to play with higher difficulty settings to become hardcore gamer. What games you have been playing, Mario and Donkey Kong? I remember that even pocket hand helded Donkey Kong was very hard, those barrels were rolling very fast in the end, I never finished that game, boy it was hard, that sucks

IMO the game was too easy.
I'm thinking John here doesn't know how to fight properly? |

you misspelled fight for cheat..

Were starting to get off topic.... alwell not like Dev's are around anymore
Anyways, umm.... a hardcore gamer has nothing to do with skill. Who knows maybe M&M games are not his genre. For all we know he could be a hard core gamer at like... IDK ..... Umm... dude you suck haha just kidding! Come on guys, he says he is a hardcore gamer he probably is. His skill has nothing to do about his time he plays. Perhaps looking him up on steam to see how many hours he has played. THat would then tell the truth? 86 hours a week or something err hardcore gamer. 3.5 hours a week..... dude shut up |

|
|
|
Hardcore gamer doesn't mean skill? How have you come out with this kind of conclusion? I think hardcore player means very skilled player. If you spend 80 hours a week playing one specific game, you must be skilled player compared to player who plays 3,5 hours a week.

A hardcore gamer is the type that reads game magazines and gets all hyped up about a game thats coming out soon, buys the game, notices the game actually sucks, stops playing the game for about three and a half months, gets bored, plays it again, gets stuck, tries everything he can think of, stops sleeping at night to play the game trying to find the key or stone or whatever he's missing, gets pissed off, looks up a walkthrough, finds out the item he needed was in the first room on the ground behind a statue with a special symbole on it, finds the item, and gets stuck again after about two levels, finally wins game and becomes so bored that he starts watching baby cartoons like Dora The Exploorer and Bob The Builder, until the magic magazines say a great game is coming out. THEN IT ALL STARTS OVER AGAIN

did you read my journal? |

nah not at all playing a game a lot doesn't mean being trained in said game- a mistake that is made quite often and there is also such thing as talent for games |
||||
|
Ok john, if you think Dark Messiah is hard i don't know what game is easy.Because it doesn't have so much freedom and there is only one way to finish the chapters(practical you'r driven by the game all the way trough it)that's what make's it very easy,all you need to do is to follow the game and you can't get stucked.
And about the stuff, weapons,keys,and potions, really there all around you. |
||||
|
Not at all, in several levels there are important stuff like health potions and keys and you HAVE to find them and it takes several hours to find the stuff in one single level, if you tell me otherwise you are lying. |

Talent means lots of practising or somehow immediatly knowing how to play, playing 80 hours a week is lot of practising, if you don't learn to play game in that time you must be real halfbrained jerk and should not be called hardcore gamer no matter how much time you spend playing games, if you play 80 hours a week and still don't know how to play or go through games without walkthrough you aren't anykind of hardcore gamer. Hardcore gamer plays games through many times and makes those walkthroughs and complains becouse game was very short and easy, isn't it skill or do you think it is pure luck or something like that? |
|||
|
well looks like we define things differently here
talented for me means that you don't need a lot of training to become good (a talented player in this case would be someone who is learning and adapting quickly) and i call playing time only training when you are concentrated and try to learn out of your mistakes hardcore gamer on the other hand i define as someone who is playing a lot (not necessarily concentrated that is) though i have to agree: dm IS quite easy (if you don't restrict yourself) |

There's difficulty settings, kid.... I mean man.

Ok now Johny you dont give up do you?
First of all the whole game has 13-15 gameplay hours,and spending several hours to find an item in a game like Dark Messiah means you got big problems with space orientation.And the keys(there are only 5-6 of them in the whole game) mainly all of them are at the npcs you fight with(you have problems finding people to?)And again,the items are all around you,where are you looking that you do not see them? Now lets talk about fights!would you like the guards to stay in a line waiting their turn to fight with you? or you would like to have a machine gun or a shootgun to finish them with one click?No really!the game is not hard! you dont know how to play it!!And if you think Dark Messiah is hard then you should try playing Arx Fatallis(that should give you something to think about!) |

easiest way to beat this game is to get the earthfire sword. no other way earthfire sword and lightning sheild you kill evereything. also u say that it's too hard? then don't swing away like a maniac and block for once which u need to do in this game, unlike other games. block them, kick em so they are immoble for a sec and then power strike them.
