I'm a level 10 mage & nothing I try has any effect on the LICH. Firetrap, lightning,Staffs, swords, scrolls. I beat the s@$&%t out of it with a sword and she, it, beats me back but no damage to either of us. HELP!!

I think this is a bug!

The Lich can be defeated like all the other enemies in the game. Just feed her with fire, or anything you have.
I suggest you reload an earlier save, before you encounter the lich.
I had the same bug with the huge spider.
I fought it more than an hour, and it was invulnerable (no hit effects on its body) Then I reloaded an earlier save, just before I met the spider and this time, I killed it in minutes.

I NEVER had this happen, i completed the game about 100 times.
I usually kill that Lich with the Sword of the Dragons Claw, i also killed it with the Bow of Dragons Claw, other times with only the Bow of Firey Rage, also the Souldrinker Sword worked.

Of course your (DVD)game should be patched 1.01 and 1.02, or nicely updated through Steam.

The Spider bug only happens when you have thrown objects into the pit from above, before entering that area. In which case loading previous savegame is the only option.
