The only thing I'd say against the Druid is that think about the server problems. If you
had too many druids running around with pets
and in bear form, wouldn't it put some
strain on the server?
If you haven' noticed, just about every model has certain hit boxes and general model form:
Top, Middle, and Bottom.
Depending on the pets, they could just be the size of one box. And, for Bears, they'd have to move the hit boxes so they were horizontal, not vertical.

Other than that, I fully support the druid idea.

But I also have an idea of my own >Big Grin

The Scout
An athletic class that is based mostly on scouting.

Refer to the bottom with skills with an *

[Skills Info]
+ Good stamina*
+ "Telescope" item that magnifies your vision (Starting skill, same thing as Eagle Eye, upgradeable with skill points, must switch to it on skill bar to use it)
+ Flexibility (Takes less damage from falls)
+ Semi-Transparency**
+ Rope Bow***
+ Spear-type weapon to keep attackers at bay (small knockback when hit with spear, doesn't apply to warriors)
+ Tracking Smoke****
0 Scout looks the same for either team*****
0 No name above scout.
- No quick attacks, only stance attacks.******
- Extra damage taken from all attacks (Low Health in other words)
- Shows up on radar to both teams*******
- Cannot be healed

*Warriors are fast, but tired easily, but scouts should be not as fast, but be able to run for much longer.

**When you crouch, you become semi transparent, just like assassin's look when they've running around. Just something to make you harder to see from far away.

*** I chose rope bow because if scouts were given super jump ability or wall climbing, I'd think it'd be easier to hack, seeing how hacks are becoming more and more of a problem. Plus, it's in single player. Maybe make only 1 rope available at a time and give the option of cutting it down once you use it?

**** Similar to Priestess' Soul Mark; A bomb that detonates on contact with large area of effect. The effect is that it makes all in contact with it so they can be seen on the map by the opposing team for some time. Also, prevents assassins from using any of their hiding skills (Cloak, Disguise, and Feign Death), and if they're already in it, takes them out. TEAMMATES CAN BE AFFECTED BY THIS. At least a 1 minute recharge on it, and it should get a long throwing range.

***** Just 1 model for scout, so teams are more likely to ignore them. The only way to tell the difference between them should be blood, eye color (undead have green glow), smoke color (same team should be blue, opposing red), chat and kills, and team sounds (Like the "Enemy Spotted" and the laugh commands).

******Quick attacks not available, nothing happens when you keep clicking. Stance attacks should be a little hard to aim, seeing how it's a spear, but should do decent damage. Maybe 35 - 40 damage at regular melee range, and 15 - 20 damage outside of it. Spear stance attack should take the longest to get into, I'm not sure what that current longest time is, so I'll just throw a guess and say 5 seconds. Should take enemy out of stance attack like warriors attack does (Bow needs to be redrawn, spell needs to be recast, ect..)

*******Both teams can see where scouts are, but names not available on map, just a class symbol.

From the way I designed it, I tried to make the scout a class with a specific purpose, but with just enough power to survive. This can be very helpful in Crusades and clan matches.
If anyone has feedback, please say so.

Um... What good is a scour if you know the layout of all the terrain? If you use scout to get a flag then hel die too easaly. The games and servers are more about geting the most kills not surviving the longest.

Agree... a scout would be useless...

He can run. Like Forest Gump.
He doesn't have to fight.

And the game is about getting the most kills?
Support Priestesses rarely get kills, but they level up from assisting teammates.

The scout is more of a support class.

Ok, but if he is not meant to kill, what is his use ? Scout ? On revealed maps ?

I'd say we got him there.
Dude this game is about KILLING. THE FLAG IS JUST A WAY TO END THE ROUND.
Its still nice to head ideas. Speaking of new ideas I'v got one;
Mana, this is directed toards you, I was thinkiong on the lines of what use a svout could possably be and it hit me, RANDOMIZED MAPS!!!. Could you creat a program to randomize the locations of obsticles and such, with a fog of war, limited sight range, a better minimap that shows the direction of allies and the directions thier facing, shared sight circles on minimap, or shared "V" lines of sight, the scout would work well in a map with fog of war, and seince the map is randomized then theres no telling where the bases are.
The scout could have like a totem pole that reveals nearby terrain to alies, a spell that gives other alies longer sigt range, doubles self sight range(which is longer than normal), high placs give a boost to sight but with a limit(you can see far but after a certain distance based on your height, you see the fog of war), if you use the "V" or "CONE" sight method then the only things revealed on the map are what you actually see.
Mana I think our new friend has a good idea.

Totally not, Dark Messiah with fog of war would be totally stupid since fog of war represen the line of sight in RTS games mostly, in a fps: WHAT YOU SEE IS YOUR LINE OF SIGHT.

THESE ARE IDEAS. Potential changes for a second game and such.
Altough the game is geting a little boreing(sorry but its true). We need a new twist, like Mana had his 7 map crusaid(very nice idea) and that new castle map. This thread is for all those ideas out there, but mainly mine Big Grin. Just kidding, this thread is for all the ideas people can come up with for bringing the rush back to Dark Messiah. Or maby Light Messiah(like the sequal or somthing in a reverse world, somthing weird like that).

well new classes would be cool but you have to think on that they must be balanced and the druid idea will be hard to make but well i never think there will come new classes cuz after so many have problems with the game i think ubisoft dont really want to keep the game up. But i think its a wonderful game tho
