I finished the single player 12 times now. I played tons of multiplayer (mostly crusade because i liked that very much)

But now it is getting boring. Single player i can dream now so an addon would be welcome.

Multiplayer the same maps everytime gets boring to so a new mappack (also for crusade) would be welcome.

The game runs perfect for me and i hardly notice any bugs. Since there are no updates, new patches i can only hope you guys work on an expansion pack or something.

If not... the game is dead to me. I do want to say you created an awesome game. I always was a fan of the heretic/hexen series from ravensoftware. And this game was just as great. I wish more of these types of games where around. 1st person hack and slash with rpg-elements.

The game is dead. For PC, in any case; the 360 gets all new multiplayer and 2 hours extra SP. It's offifical that there will be no further patches for PC.

Bah that is sad new. Well, time to move on then.

Monoliths go at making a console game (Condemned) has a tiny bit o rpg and is very similar in gameplay, its not quite as advanced as it was a console port but its much better writen and full of all that creepy horrify gore fun lovin that we have come to realy expect from the great north west devs like Monolith.

Oblivion sucked as far as gameplay and writing, far more than this, and in a way, the main quest while not only providing no true RPG elements, also was far more repetiitve, generic and even shorter than a single go through of this. So avoid that one if you can.

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, Troika's(fallout 1&2) dying breath is more of a shooter than a whacker, but it has sword and melee play and allso happens to be the best written game in existance, not to mention a serious contender for the greatest RPG ever put to a video game. If you havent played it and you want to see what the pro's do when they take an oath to not f*ck around, or if your a human being who hasent played it, GET IT NOW. If a store isnt open DL it off steam (as stupid as that is).

PS: its a real RPG, multi pathed in not just open ended questing, but character dialoge and outcome. Next best thing to it in modern terms was a console port named Farenhite by french dev Quantic Dream or something though, its an adventure game with RPG structure (no free form, its like playing a movie, but theres plenty of violence and sex if thats your thing, course its also a damned good story).

my first character took 159 hours to complete the game, the next took about 215 hours
and the story is great.

Yhea, if it were compitantly designed mabey, but it breaks down to gates, and cult, +horrid acting and dialogue through out. Repeat gate 20x, add cave, add fortress, +repeaditive hacking and slashing through out +gate again + other gates with big things that are easier to close that the regular gate + end sequence and more cleche dialogue, +cave +cenimatic not involving you...

-several hours that could have been spent doing something that wasent imature and repetitive and over all boring as hell, not to mention painfully hair standing up corny crappy any thing involving another npc... and the other quests are just rehashes of cirtian elements of it with even worse vO since they have 4 or 5 guys do 1400 characters and they all suck from the ground up, as characters, as vo acing, well those few guys suck too and since they do it in a large reccord and move on to the next sound bite from 9 to 5 then go home and try and find what the hell happend to thier soul as it was there before they started and now its missing and cannot be found.

look you spent 374 hours wasting your time and as far as directly plaing through the main campaign not the whole game, as it is the only part of the game with a thred of substance, 10 hours gets you through it, give or take a couple, but anything more than 20 on the main portion itself, and you need to take a step back and look deep into a mirror and open your mind to the fact that mabey its just you, acceptance is the first step to change, accept, then react, and go do something worth while and even mabey entertaining, like stairing at a wall, which easil trumps the horrors in cleche **** that you will experiance in Oblivion, walls at the very least dont have sh*ty acted and worse written dialogue that you have no say whatsoever in the progression of which (which oddly enough kinda makes oblivion, well, not even a real RPG, as there is no real role playing); of course if your wall you choose to stair at does, wait several hours for the acid or mesculine to leave your system and try again.

2 for each race one female and one male.
only the voices took up half of the dvd.

First things first, Oblivion was a very abitious, and difficult undertaking on a techincal scale, it took GSC Game-World more than twice the time bethesda spent on Oblivion, doing it right, so on that note, comparing it to WOW, is, well, its kinda sorta the thing If I were our man Todd of bethesda, well, I would have to silence and or export you far far away where fairys live cause every one claps and if you dont clap fairies die by the millions and so Not Clapping is Like killing thousands of little innocnent precious and kind magical flying mini-persons who only want to find some more musrooms and them stair at the wall for the next few hours in fasination.

Course same can be said about him as par the dialgue in his game, just WOW happens to be an exeptionaly prize packege example of not giving half a sh*t about anything, any one, or that the Great Flying Spaghetti Monster will on the day of the conglomerate group's memeber's death's each alone in its self who submited to be drunk with power and lack of any sexual contact (as for functionality purposes when it started to look bad, our creator and loving protector and guid saw fit to melt it from existance and donate the matter to the most dire of causes... Dont get me started on the writing, I mean Dungeon Siege and Guild wars were bad but this, It's like they were going for the equivilent of a Leperchan Movie, can we make it suck so much, that its uniqueness in worthless/even Harmfull, phisicaly as well and mentaly makes it a spectacular aw inspiering achievment as it becomes entertaining to see how low it can go, well, even the leperchan films only went so far and all together there like 15 hours mabey a bit more and there are credits and disk changing or comercal breaking or what not incase of emergancy. We get a vaca for now untill they get out any more of the right people who chose the good way and the right way and the orderd way and the only way cause it was the right way and the way that was good and the way that only the right choiches could bring them here where the right choces will be made amoung the wrong and the right will prevail as they will be the ones who do the write things at the right time in the right way cause the right way is the only way and the wrong way will only lead to the wrong result and for those not capible of true reaction in doing the right things in a face to face situation with the right way and the wrong ways coulded in a srouded mist that only the light from the right people can shine the good ways and the only ways and the ways that are the good ways as they are the only way and when the time comes and you do the right thing you will have the the right to reap the reqward for the right decidion, though that is not allways the case, though reaping rewards for others by doing the right thing is just as right as reaping them for one's self and others, though when the time comes and one's moment of ritousness is before them, the right intentions can cause the right things to happen in the right ways though the wrong ation was taken but in faith and in the end, wether we are standing or have fallen at the end, the only way to keep one's soul one's own is to make the choice as to weither we are right or we are the wrong, and if that is the case and you give into the wrong, every choice youu make that woulde seem to be right, would be infact wrong as you are now an insturment of wrong and deceite and the wrong way and the wrong result and the wrong choices that you made and now will pay for them as its the turning, that makes one alone and in that, when one turns on his or her fellow human beings for the sole purpose to abuse them and wrong them for personal gain, you rapidly loose your soul, and once it is truly gone only the grace of the monster can save you yet and only in your true yant to be a right person doing the right thing in the right way again can you shed this wrong and take the right path from the wrong fork and undo the wrong that was done.

When they made wow, they knew they had their prevous co-workers nameset to cast as their own, even tough allmost all of what we wold have called blizard had moved on to do real things and decent things and things that took effort and time and tallent. They had a dying franchise that they could spark by assigning archetypes to previous archetypes and concepts that co-inside with the world created by the people who used to work here before they left cause their soul fell out of their ass on the sh*ter one day and they couldent go to satan and trade it in for a new one as it has a life time gaurntee with that particular vendor at that will cost you nothing in this one, not even a down payment. But they dont replace souls with the soul type you were given at birth , as its just something you cant take out a loan on.

So those left at Blizzard slaved into the wee hours of the afternoon before retiering to a life of sitting and leaching from others around and below them in the manor that their new masters will leach from them. They created a game that had the basic standard of gameplay, the worst visual's to be released in over half a decade (mind you they sold that under the influence that it was "purposly cartoon like" or stylized or some sh*t like that which the die hard grouppie loosers left over from diablo II and StarCraft ate up and forced them selves into seeing every thing as sugar incrusted candy cause some one told them it was. The dialogue and story line that were provided are possibly the worst to come out in a long long while and its odd how its so previlent in this way and so widley aceptade as soemthing other than a direct insult to the genera, profession, writers who actualy try, and production teams who work with good weriters and have good products so that we all can have a good time.

The gameplay like I said was generic and repetitive from the start to the cycle of addiction that people who have no standards get locked in cause, well, there pathetic that way, I mean, even Oblivion was interactive as a basis for the gameplay, WoW has the lock and let the stats float up in the air so that the hiarchy of battle is soley who has wasted the most time, or the occasional incident which the only thing that game had for it was a masssive player base and people so dedicated to this ugly stick beaten crapfest of generic and pointeless porportions (as it was designed that way so that the not truly living, but not realy dead, but not undead beings who are now mearly existing in a controll room working on effort less ways to milk more from it with otu actualy having to do anything outside of tweak the scripts or what not, or write a press stament about bug fixes that are coming, you know like jesus is supposed to come again some time, annnny time in the future, as he is coming and he cant be coming from the past, cause rapests as good as blizard dont fix bugs expecialy not in a timely manor as patch release brings up the game as a potential cash crop again and if spred out one can maintain interest indefinaltely, with out actualy providing any serivice or support, though, looking and sound as if god will come with the next patch for real or something.

Anyhow, On occasion the roped in society of addicts and inmates, or those who now live for ever in the world of super washed out and amaizingly poorly textured and even worse programed and scriped **** effects which originate from even worse quality modeling of every factor in the game... This allows for the people who are so far gone that they decide to start trying to plugin ascpects of the reality they left for the one that they avoid it with as well as satasfy their brains need for the stat boosting and the enviroment confines that the brain has become dependent upon.

Its very similar to say a slot machine, ( and in wow's case only slightly more complex or inovating or hell benificial in any tangible way as a slot machine at least on occasion can give back some of the moeney you put in it at the whopes that one more button will strike some rrandom nonexistant factor that will give you some of the casino's money in addiition to that which was taken from you by a crank machine with paint and noise submisivly it made you its b*tch lol. Course if you do manage to get lucky the casino has was todeal with that too, as what happens in vegas stays in vegas and if thats cash you think you got from those chipps you aquiered, well, its most cirtianly not your cash if its enough to cause a problem, at least it wont be in the morning.

Well these people who start to try and absolve or paint away reality as they have been brainwashed literaly into thinking that the confines of WoW are the good parts of life and the life parts are the ones to rush through, and these people are very sad yes, but when people having fun about things as there are the occaisionaly players who play games like this with other people or in unison as something more than team speak or chat dialoge tribes, as thats not real person interactinon at all. And in that a specific group of people were trying to make a point about events taking place In PVP zones and those who were invonvinianced at their unofficial personal space being violated or their functions (yes I was boggled too; they hold public funtions in game in wow, for those who are that far gone, which is enough to hold public funtions for f*cks sake lol.) Being disruped was given a large outcry against those who would be doing this.

Well, and I was witness to this in a class I took on the Punk Underground as we were given an assignment to find something that was in the spirit of Punk Rock and had the energy or essience of the music, the f*ck-you that is pretty much a dictionary discriptor to what punk rock music means; but not any music, the goal was to show that spirit and influence in reality rather than spoken word, which wasent exacty hard to do in Seattle, but every one took care to do soemthing obsucure or off so that they wouldent risk bringing up the same thing. Well one guy's brought in a video of something that made even the most anti-virtual reality advocates crack a giant smile.

In the video, apparently some one was holding a funeral service for a departed probably just as far gone of an addict to the agian not only horribly out of date and generic, but genericly designed and layed out, any society in reality would have moved to greener pastures and richer eveniroments and attampts to lack the restrictions of player control that removes and skill factor from the game and adds a time played factor only... Well, that and the pants down and attention occupied elseware factor which you would think survial instincts would have formed first in the brains coaping with the new reality forced upon it.

What basicly was shown was a sect group of opreatives frapsing the funeral as people go around and text condolences, a few minutes of it and any one with a decent mind and an interest in inovation, interaction, variety, or simply round geometry, semi-rounded geometry, (possibly a sphere, mabey even a buckyball playing the part of a sphere??? lol. Anyhow, this is intercut with ambiant music to the funeral as reverent and gothic, and the strike team moving to the funeral's location through the again embarasingly vomit inducing landscape of generic and utteraly bland and non reactive enviroments; with some standard geek punk rock playing as they half assed their animated boxy and washed out asses to the target.

After a few cut backs between them they hit and as far as any carnage, I guess you have to be into to tell, as one of the classmates was pointing out the play by play with fervored enthusiasm and glee, which added to the o so good mood I would be in for the rest of my day. Something about people dying so fast and in such quantity that dying ment respawning ment dying and any aid coming to the click fest, which must have been pre assigned by the spies at the funeral before hand concidering how limited the sole stat based combat is. After a few minutes of brutal clicking and conolitus style eye hurting flashing and a bit of whacking here and there and the only thing left were the corpses renderd on the computerd that fit the max number or something as it should have been coverd in bodies of these loosers who got a very healthy reality check, and if not to real life, at least to that you cant trust the honor system in a viritual society when there are some people who play it as a game not a way of ever pathitic, generic, out of date, horridly animated and renderd as well as written, and designed **** from the loosers that Blizards key employees left behind.

So yhea, I kinda dont know what happend but I kind turned off my concious mind and let my inner metaphore with no corolating that inst paragraphs upon paragraphs long speak for a bit, coming too in time to fix some inconsistancies and pull the tangent back to the topic, as its such a broad one when you bring up the most popular sh*t fest, the video game equvilent to cyinide cut 2% substanced crack that had been allready torched, but millions of loosers are all sitting there trying to get every last particulate into their lungs, and others main lining it in desparating and hemreging from the orifices all over the floor, seat, and people surround them till more blood is out side them than inside the babey they left at home so they could get high and abuse or ignnore it some more before they just didnt come home and it was given back to the Spaghetti Monster's noodely embrace as it would neve be foreced to suffer through humanities depravity, deveption, narcesism, and suseptability for self deception.

F*ck you game market for not takeing a stand against that ****, there are many decent mmo's with even barely compitant dialogue and storys for the player base to create a real virtual enviroment that ath th very least would justify additcion, rather than just abuse it.

And while I'm at it, F*ck you people who hold funeral's for people in a game who died having done nothing worth while in thier life as it was stolen by their inability to deal with reality, hell that should be a wake up call to get out, turn off the comp, or at least use p all bandwidth that would be used by wow to Stream www.kexp.org and tube feed some compitant originality that only public rado can provide.

Hell, get some freinds, buy some over priced facy dice and get a couple of good old TSR or Troika rpg rule books from the library and actualy spend some time with REAL PEOPLE DAMN IT. People dying used to be a wake up call, now I guess its got a snooze/ignoralloff*ck togeth feature.


Now, as far as games with good voice acting, there are more than a few, just not as many as there should be in this day and age.

All of these have A quality movie equivilant acting and while theres a rebalance between dialoge and acting on occasion it smooths out to compentsate for issues as a whole in allmsot all of these titles.

MANHUNT (it must be the whole pie, of blood, its a pie, and its coagulated blood, dear god thats awsome in every way. And when its not a refreshing declicous fresh baked crust filled with the blood of a creature for our eating entertainment, we ahve the whole charred internal organ thing going on the side, dont ever f*ck with a Scottsman, ever.. Did I mention they make pie, out of the blood of animles, probably assorted enemys, and small helpless sheep... No onder they crafted probably the most contriversial game around and the prograesivly pushed it furthrer 2 more times and in spades made a far mroe in depth story experiance each time, as well as a survival horror game that had more than just the bells and dwhistels of truly original gameplay, original takes on that which inspiereed it, and still managed to write a brutal and wounderfully thick story line into it, which while its not the fully open ennded rpg enviroments that GTA was, they proved hands down they can make your heart bruse your ribs for 20 hours and still make you wana go againn and see what tyou didnt do to those who made the mistake of not letting you die, and thinnkig they could just f*ck with you and run you down untill some one gets board and goes out of their way to put you down for good as if you realy did die back on the injection slab... I highly reccomend this to any one who like the stelth that riddick and splintercell had, and while Riddick is pretty much a sibling to MANHUNT is many ways, dont think for a seccond they are clones, and I garunteee after finishngthem, you may not like your self in the morning, but you probably will want yto play through them and do it completlty different than how you managed before.

Half-Life 2 (dispite generic run n gun crapshoot gameplay that far was outdated by the original half life, dling Smod Tactics and removing all but the smod gameplay and the weapons models that you wana keep around (you can swap them out with hundreds of equivelents on something like FPSBANNANA.com or uk or what not and go into the scripts, change the features to model the game feel after hl2 more than CS if you havent played hl2 vinilla (dont under any circumstances play Valves version if you can avoid it and have yourfirst expiriance involve moderrn gameplay like real life gun that equip physical factors in shooting, a melee kick that more than comes in handy with the arcade swarm em style they did with it) that gun you replaced, change the iron sights to fit the new model (best if ran in a window so its seemless the script edditting and reloading the save game rather than redoing the buffer as if you had minimised it completly) As long as you do the effort involved above, the game's cenimatic style is revolutonary in animation and acting, a true achievment for writers who for once didnt get backshelved till the game was finished but no one said anything generic and crappy yet.

And I should probably throw in SWAT4 even though it wasent story based because the acting was incredibly well done and implimented as Keven Levine would only have it, in his simulations, much less his dialogue driven RPG's or I think Acid induced spoofs like Freedom Force, all games that make you feel hope yet that consoles haven taken the market alltogether with kiddie dialoge and writing, even if its laced with expletived cause it makes the 10 year olds feel like there playing some thing for older kids when their realy just playing what should be written for that age level or lower in terms of non patriconic complexities and chleche ****, not to mention an inability to ack like anything more than a child molester.

Ahmet Ertegun, who should for all intents and purposes be listed under Rock and Roll and the American Entrances to modern music as creator practicly in every way up untill his till his death at 83 last year back stage at a rolling stones concert, when he fell of the stage or something head first, which if he was goigng to go out any way hands down that would have been in the top 5, mabey front stage during the concert might have been 4, it died with him as he didnt realy plan it out and figured he would just keep going like usualy till the end randomly took him as did happen.

It takes a god to bring out a god, and untill dvelopers have the balls to get up and take what they want by force, your never going to have a super evolution like Ahmete inspierd and pretty much through blood sweat and probably perma damaged hearing he made music and he made muiscians make music, not corperate products, but music and he kept his soul to the very end. Untill game developers are willing to actualy beleive in what their doing, hell even for once be unrealistiic in expectations, but instead of half assing it like molynuex allways does go that extra mile and bring something to the table that puts the asses in thier spinny offic chairs and their mind heart soul and fingers to the puppet strings of interactive story telling that makes books seem limited and movies seem outdated mediums, cause games have that potential, we just neeed standards and a fiew people to take a chance at being a demigod, and managing not to sell out when that happens. It it does, we as gamers, and as game developers will be in a place that every club owner in the 70's was in in New York when a geeky looking perfect circle glasses turkish dignitaries youngest son deceided to do somethng about what he loveed and because of it, didnt just shape the nation but the whole world.

Also I should note that My posts are long yes cause I love to insecently rant about stuff weither positive or neagative, but also because I want to limit the amount of dumbsh*t questions and attempted hole's in my arugments and statments require my attention to explain it further.

I figure I throw every thing I can into the first salvo mabey I get my point accross first post in. The only draw back is the people I usualy have to break things down for in later posts that make me sit on a forum all day trying to keep up with the bs, are the people who get shrinkage from stairing at a large quantity of letters, some of which may be coagulated into words. Scarrrrrrrrry sh*t there my boy, damn scary, never know what there gona say till you read them, and even then some times they illude you till you read it again a few times and suddently it makes sense, or less not-sense any how, I guess we would be f*ck wits to go try and all cause all that heat could melt yer brain.

Its not my intention, but it realy pisses me off when I go to the trouble to give a thurogh and informative anwer, one that possibly is enjoyable to read, as they cirtainly are to write, course that depends entierly on the opinion of the reader, though if you were going to ask a question from me the least you can do is skim it, I posted the answer in the 3rd quarter or seccond third of it, the rest is situational respons to what you and others like you have been saying to my posts of which have been similar in content on diffent threds these past few days.
