It was told that an full SDK was going to be released for Dark Messiah but since then there has been no info on how it is going.
Is suppose that the beta is all going well but any info on what it actually is would be great and make the community feel it is alive.
Since this is the last release that will ever come to this game I think it is important that also the players who are not in the beta know what can be seen once this has been released.

I agree, A lot of the players (also, some of them are still playing -_-) However, we have not heard of much for some time. I, Myself, and others are beginning to worry. I really hope this is the Full Version of the SDK Development. For without it. This great game (in my opinion) will most certainly die.

With the full version of SDK both sides as in the Dev and the Community will both benefit from it. It is also not very hard at all to do. It is the matter of caring in my opinion. After all, we did loose support of the game. Some bugs and imbalances in both the SP/MP of the game.

With the full version, all of those can be fixed. We could do what ever we wanted with the game. It is very possible to bring this game back alive so the community could increase,but not only that. The sales would also increase. Also the Dev"s could get away with there past mistakes -_- no offense. It would just be most beneficial to have.

I hope the Community manager will read, and post back to this thread. Also with a great modder as Mana and the knowledge he brings to this community and the game in itself. Just allowing the FULL SDK in only his shoes. He certainly out of everyone else, would be the one to increase UBI's sales of Dark Messiah and bring back a very productive community. Oh and increase the sales for UBI. I mean you have to have the game to be able to play its neat mods Smile

Though, it still would not be fair. So I say that the FUll version of SDK should be released, seeming how it only helps both sides of the issue. Also it is not very hard. It is a good time for Dev's to shine upon some of the mistakes made.

*Note, Just a side note from me on Multiplayer. Some hackers have showed up on servers. Also because of Mana alone, and having a few other Clans show up in game and create servers with changes. They are by far the populated. With that new players are showing up. They just loose interest. Because of Mana's doings he has created a lot for the community in himself. So I believe he needs a thanks Smile

Apparently the MP SDK is already out. Do you see Custom weapons, custom campaigns? No. If they go by the same idea for this "full" SDK then it won't be of much help to any of us.

Only time will tell now.

So now you answer "Why wouldn't they do it?"

And yes I wonder what's the reason that Ubisoft has against getting MOAR money... Are there some licensing problems or does Arkane want to keep parts of the game source secret? Bleh. All I know is that if someone made an online version of Dark Messiah using the SP engine, I'd be the 2nd person to play it.

Imagine throwing a bucket at your enemy online, or cutting some annoying "noob's" head of, or kicking him of a ledge into a pit of... say.. spikes? All of that done classless, no need for too much balancing. Make your own unique builds and have the server save it for you...

I can see it now as what you told me Mana. "Look you noob your weaponless" Warrior starts charging the player with his HUGE Axe. The player kicks a bucket knocking the Warrior off a cliff into the spikes down below.

Player responds: OWNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

That is what I would call a very great game. It would be HUGE!!!!!!!!!!

Dangit UBI just release the SDK that we are ALL hoping for. At least do us that dignitiy PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Psh... Their loss. Make a build that is able to counter your enemy. Instead of making the enemy succumb to your weaknesses. Besides I would be able to own a mage with fireball using a broomstick. You just need to know how. Plus you can jump around, not like the arrows/fireballs are heat seeking :P. Not to mention the fact that you jump the same when you have a short sword or when you have some big sword.

y no problem there if you surprise him and he then doesn't throw his "panic fb" right at your face

well as long as you can hit a jumping person with meele weapons (unlike in mp)


nvm this doesn't lead anywhere... if we should ever get the chance to play like that and guys with one kind of skills (ranged/meele/spells/stealth) are highly dominating there needs to be a change (fact!)

Panic FB X 7 and maybe I would die, remember SP fireball is very nicely balanced. I wouldn't up it's power by 1 %. Do you remember how many hits you need to fireball an orc? Now image an online player with 100 HP Smile. Unless you are in adrenaline mode, and 98% of the time you are not.

Some skills I CAN wonder how works in multiplayer such as the stealth meter not to mention some of the spells with adrenalin. When you used telekinesis in singleplayer the enemy turned into a ragdoll but without dying unlike the gravity gun in Half-life 2. Not sure if this would create lag but I would imagine so.

EDIT:
It seems like the progress of the SDK beta test is pretty unknown for even the CMs. At least it is the impression I get from reading the German forum site :>

It's still with classes and it's not being made by Arkane. I am 99.87658971337568% sure it will not be like that.

orcs are fire resistant Wink
but yes you are right there... fb damage is not that high in sp
but still i would slow a player down that is preparing a spell by 15-25% or so (if the spell is ready you would have normal speed but still you could not "hit and run" that easily... but then we would need something similar for arrows)

there i do see a problem... you are restricted to one server unless you make the saving client based what again could lead to manipulation

if the server saves it, the ones who are investing the most time are the strongest and furthermore tournaments would be a bit hard to organize (at which level would they start? if it is on a clan server it's likely that the one clan has higher levels saved and so on...)

that's why i would like to see this handled like in current mp (start at the level the server settings tell and then a quite fast way to gain the first levels)

i would however like to see a way to "pre-build" your skilltree so that the points are set automatically
