Even though i haven't played the m&m games in the past and i have only seen my friends playing heros 3.

well im one of those "old dogs", and while heroes series are great and DMoMM looks to be good and all,i rather have MM10 in my hands.
why not buy one of those MM millenium bundles
and try the REAl series out. (i hope ya can stand old but MARVELOUS pixel graphics though. Big Grin )

i am actually planning to sell off some duobles of MM's ive gathered over the years, someone know of a good trading/auction site for MMs?

since i cant find a attach pic link, i'll explain it in text instead.

Might and magic II: Gates to Another world
complete (amiga 500 discettes)

Might and Magic III: Isles of Terra
uncomplete, only thing not original is the manual, which was lost and fotocopied in my younger days.

Ultima Might and Magic Archives
uncomplete, only got the cd and case.

Might and Magic VI: Mandate of Heaven Special Edition (contains MM1-5)
complete and in mint cond.

ive set em up on a swedish auctionsite for now, heres the address:

Might and Magic Pak

but i am sure they will sell better on an international auction site.

I think that we should all be open minded to DM, and even though they're using the MM title for a non-MM game, what is HoMM? MM 1-7 were great games with their beautiful 2-D rendered awesomeness, but it's a new age and mabey DM will be a link into another chapter of MM, like the first Heroes. By the way, i'm thirteen, and somehow i ended up playing MM 6&7, HARDCORE!!! Twisted

Take a look at Arkane Studios past work... I really enjoyed arx fatalis, if they can give more in that vein I'll be happy. The one thing I hope they do is make it a little less linear than Arx was.

It won't be a standard M&M game, but it may well be a worthwhile action/RPG hybrid. If you don't enjoy that type of game, just don't buy it.

How can you say it's not a MM game? More imortanly, how do you judge if it is or isn't a MM game?

Of course it's a MM game, not part of the MM 1-9 games, but it's still a MM game if it's called MM.
If I were to call it anything, I would call it a MM-spinoff, wich it is (and so is HoMM and every other "of Might and Magic" game.)

I don't mean to sound rude Secret, but i never said it wasn't a might and magic game, i said it wasn't a traditional might and magic game, (which i love), and that it could open up new chapters in the MM franchise.

Now, there I agree, but even thought it's untraditional, I have geat hopes for it. I think it'll be a great game, and very fun to play multiplayer.

I completely agree. One of the reasons I'm so excited is because of the multiplayer aspect. I want this to be just the beginning of melee-oriented first-person multiplayer games. I crave a deep combat system that you can excel at. I want it to be so good that when two masters fight, it looks like a dance. And people watch and think, damn, I wish I was that good.

Well from the other hand i disagree

I do not care so much about Multiplayer in RPG games

true RPGs are all about true Single player experience and less about multiplayer

But i guess the problem with Dark Messiah is that it is not going to be a true RPG...
it's going more like to be a first person Hack and slash...

If i wanted a RPG with Multiplayer inside i would buy World of Warcraft or something lame like that just like the rest of the kids and the multiplayer fans of the world

the problem with HoMM series is that it is not a rpg but a turn-based strategy game?

no. just a difference. deus ex or thief style in dark messiah is just different from open-endedness in elder scrolls series. one is not better than the other, and vice versa.

IMO, I like deus ex style more than elder scrolls style.

Never said that I only cared about the multiplayer aspect. RPG's are (almost) all about singleplayer, and I didn't say it wasn't.
I only said that it would be fun to play multiplayer over LAN f.ex. Nothing else.

P.S: HoMM is a turn-based strategy/RPG. It is a RPG, because you can give your heroes skills and items, and really has nothing to do with DMoMM. Don't know why you mentioned it.

I just wanted to say that what really matters is "how good the game is", not "which genre the game belongs to".

Also, i think it's going to be interesting to see how the multiplayer turns out. In the videos the fighting looked so open ended, and it's hard to make that open ended of multiplayer.
