You have totally no idea of the view I am looking at. I dont use pussy attacks, no one hit kills off ledges, no setting on fire, no pussy kicks into spikes or fire, definatley no stealth/backstabbing, no mage healing, no dragonclaw/earthfire sword instant kill weapons, no lightning shields or any of those other pussy tactics.
All those things ruin the fun of the game and distract you from the main point of it which is close combat sword and shield. All the other things are just lame ways of passing areas for noobs that wanto clean through the game without a challenge. It's easy to exploit the AI stupidity with all those but doesnt mean you have taken on the real chellenge yet. For half of those tactics you might aswell just put in console cheats for the same 1 hit kill effects. By waste of life I mean that for me there is no fun in doing the game that way and no fun in playing through the same situation until you work out the lamest and easiest way through. What is life if it is not fun? its ****. |

Hardcore aint that hard. just keep sidestepping and dont always use power attacks and remember too MOVE >.< dont stand still, try to make a "line" if there is 2 or more enemies so only 1 can hit you

Whoever says the demon ability is worthless hasn't discovered how awesome the running attack is with it. I can easily wreck a roomful of orcs or ghouls with it, though those awful ghouls sometimes still kill me.

Meh, the deamon is cheep, using supernatural powers over good old fasion badassing is a sign post of lacking in character. Besides, whats the point in turning into some f*ed up monster when you can be that deamon with out transforming.
My thoughts turn to Johny Depp as William Bates in dead man, as he says to the two marshals "Have you read my poetry" and then shoots them both with a souless blank look on his face, then walks over to the body of the one who is writhing in agony, says something like some people are born to ever eternal darkness and shoots him again, compleatly lucid and walks away. The hell with having satan's body, just have his soul and its a helluva lot cooler. Now back more on topic, I totaly agree that the Hard difficulty is blatently agitating and terrribly balanced. Look Im all for having super hard difficulties and such, but you need an intermediate. The easy, was way, way to easy. The hard, well, yes it takes a helluva lot of finess, and dont get me wrong I feel damn right special when ever I make it past a group of assorted baddies... but thats just it... THE ENTIRE GAME IS GROUPS OF ASSORTED BADDIES It makes no sense whatsoever that the transition, the one step up, trancends the player from the balanced abilities of one guy taking on sed many baddies, naturaly they would be weaker and at some sort of disadvantege since theres many of them and one of you... to the baddies all being the equivilent of the player previous, and the player having the abilities of one of the sed mass hords who are designed in mass hords because they are weak and the hord should be equivilent to the hero who kills it. Its how games or at least video games usualy tend to work. The only real advantage that the player has over the npc's in hard mode is surprise on occasion, lots of health potions but not nearly enough as would fix the balance, and the quick save which lets him go back and re do it till finaly you get through the far superior masses. It would make sence if that was the hard core mode or it was part of a set with the hard core mode, and the game included a true intermediate level, one where the NPC's didnt roll over and die on command yet one where the npc's kick did more damage than your power swing, the NPC's agility was limited to moves you the player could make, or even better, allowing the player to do those super dodges and instant, constant, and incredibly rapid power swings, or block blows when making a swing since the shield is held up (theres blocks, your makes a fleshy sound cause its just vestigial to the animation, yes technicaly there's a shield there, but it dosent count for you cause your smacking not blocking, where as the NPC is blocking untill smacking, and the raised stroke means nothing untill it well, strokes. The only way to realy compitantly deal with enemies on hard is to back stab them or if your lucky shoot them with their backs turned. Ok your also forced to use all the little things they have set up, but while I dont mind having to sucker punch to survive, I wish I could experiance the variety the game enables, but dosent allow because the NPC's are god creatures who can take 10 or 15 powerstrokes and be fine (expecialy gouls, I mean common, not only are they speedyquick, they do more damage than anything save the dragon and the cyclopse, and in most cases, it DOES do more damage than the cyclopse. Again, its truly intense, but that wares off cause reloading a save half a million times gets old. I agree alot with syncourt, its a helluva lot more kickass if you take a sharp piece of metal and a pair of boots in and kick well some ass. I dont have a problem using the quick kills, when the oportunity presents itself, a kick off a ledge, or a blade jamed into the spinal colume is fine, but the ideal kill is face to face loping sed enemy's head off with intersclicing daggers or severing him in two with a katana. In that, the game should at the very least provide a difficulty that didnt force you to be a little b*tch in your tactics. Dont get me wrong I like that sence of realism, but one of the key things about realism... well, they go down just as fast as you do. All this does is flip the balance around so that I have to spend a lot of time looking at a loading bar, or painstakingly running and slashing and running inorder to not get hit. |

He doesn't work. Oh and about Aratrok, you can beat it easily even with a lame wooden staff that can use everybody. But in this way there won't be much fun and challenge and it bores. And I agree with Carrick. |
