MP Patch 1.02 is still tentative, and a more accurate change list will be posted in another thread as soon as we have it. *********************************************************************** SP Patch 1.02 changes and bug fixes *********************************************************************** - Combat Difficulty in ?Hard? mode is now harder. PLEASE NOTE: This fix will not take effect in any game saved prior to this patch. - Added a new "Hardcore" difficulty mode (1 more step beyond ?Hard?). - Re-balanced NPC's strength & health on the second half of the game for all difficulty modes. PLEASE NOTE: This fix will not take effect in any game saved prior to this patch. - Added an intermediary ?Texture" setting between "Medium" and "High". ("High" could create an overload with some video card memory: so, to offer more scalability, it has been renamed to "Very High" and the "High" option now offers "Medium" textures for the scenery, but "High" textures for the NPCs.) - No more crashes when NPCs are beheaded (occurred with the ?head_link? error message) - Fixed the black Bink playback problem with GeForce FX video cards - Fixed FPS drops with GeForce 6800 - No more graphical glitches on GeForce FX cards when player is under water - No more graphical glitches on GeForce FX cards when player is being hit or is almost dead. - No more graphical glitches on GeForce FX cards when equipping a Magic Weapon. Unfortunately, MP is more tentative than SP right now, and we cannot confirm that the list posted earlier is representative of the final change list. Until we have something more official, I don't want to publish a list in a stickied post here in the forums and speculation/discussion of it in those earlier threads wouldn't be constructive. I've edited my first post in this thread to reflect that state of affairs. Sorry for any confusion. |

Can You Please Add a "Cinematics" option to the main menu?? i'm missing so much from the bink video bug..i tried the "-dxlevel 90" trick..well it fixed the videos and the checkerbox with magical weps. but i can not get over 3 fps ^^ and i don't want to start all over just to see the movies. as far i was satisfied with the game..but now only i see is a "kick & fly 'em off" game...so disappointed for the very few hours.(i just killed over 15 mobs by just kicking them.well you gonna say you can't kick them all the time from high ground..but when i see a mob i see a spiky thing.and that does the job instead of makeing them fly down.i suggest you should also remove like 1500+ of these spikes from the game)

Are the yellow artifacts and between chapter loading crash when on full GFX settings fixed as well?
Running a rig with a Nvidia 8800 GTX card, and it's getting pretty boring to allways have to exit the game, lower gfx, load game, save, then exit and then back into the game, gfx max, then load from saved point. *Phew* |

Does this 1.02 patch include the ever so present "crash on startup" bug?
Where the game loads for 2 seconds then crashes? Because it was originally stated that it would be fixed for 1.02 and it has been...over a month now and i still havnt even been able to get into the menu despite the "Hotfix". |

From this statement, very obvious nothing is fixed. They only reduce the quality of the textures as a cheap way to get out from crashes. How lame. Very disappointing. They are only reducing super low quality textures where Medium as High and Low as Medium. Obviously these crashes and extreme jerkiness were not due to textures setting which i very much doubt. I seriously doubt this patch will do any good. |

Nice! How about a fix for the fact that since the 1.01 patch the game won't even start (ran fine for me prior to the patch)? Can somebody who downloaded the game from Steam do me a massive favor and post the target line from your single player .exe

Thanks for the update - but the mount colossus of bugs is the loading/loading screen crash problem - if that bug isnt squashed the product is in effect unplayable... will this bug be sorted in patch 1.02 - the suggestion by Marco on 15/11 was that it would be (ie. he was half way through sorting it) - the conspicuous absence of this particular bug in later updates on patch 1.02.... is it a bug dealt with in patch 1.02>? yes or no? |

... and to quote Marco the developer on 7 November 2006 on these forums... note that he classifies the loading/loading screen bug as the "Main Issue".... "Patch 1.01 is currently through QA Testing and if it goes well, should be released tomorrow (To Be Officially Confirmed) SP Patch 1.02 will be released as soon as the Main Issue with the Game (aka the crash on loading) is fixed. We'll keep you updated, we're doing as fast as possible." is this still true or not? yes or no? |

Fantastic! Hardcore mode sounds great and will give me an excuse to play the whole game again with luck!
Glad work is still being done on MP I was afraid they'd lket it die, when it has some much potential. Fixing the talents bug and Lorbs will make it so much better alone, but I hold out in hope for more |

Yes ... i agree with Archaven ... and i asked on different topcis about this ... no answer ... dont udnerstand me wrong .. i really want and hope that this Patch will fix the Game BUT .. like Archaven it sounds to me, that they NOTHING fixed on that part. They just added a new option. So the very high option is similar to the high option at the moment. When the Patch comes out, i will set the texture qualitiy on very high. And when it will runs so bad like now with high settings, then it is obviously. they fixed nothing ... well ... let us hope ... greetz |
