I'm thinking that I should make this thread as a centralized location for news/discussion on my DMTavern Crusade server. So I'll start it off with a description of the server:
DMTavern #1 is a 7 map 32 slot crusade server hosted in New York, USA located at the following IP: 71.183.93.239:27017 Now you might be thinking that the 2 extra crusade maps are custom, but no that's not the case. I have manually edited CTF_2 and CTF_3 to turn them into crusade maps. So the maplist is the following: L_MP1, L_MP2, CTF_3, L_MP3, CTF_2, L_MP4, L_MP5 There are no extra downloads in this server, meaning no custom content that you would have to wait through the loading screen and watch the long download bar download some maps/models. It's just join and play. It also features the following server-side configuration:

Well... when I played single player I was practicly addicted to evplosion arrows. Could you do somthing about the invisable barrier by the bridge doorways that you have to jump a bunch to get past? Also I get very angry when im casting fireball and sombody atacks me from behind and it stops the casting. Also I was thinking that maby assasins can take extra dammage when cloaked. Could you increase the limit of flame arrows that can be controled at one time?
New tk punishment features; Will you be playing on this server often? 6 send to prison 7 buisness class(causes person to fly across the top of the map) 8 dizzy(causes person to take 75% less dammage and causes person to spin on the spot for a short time) 9 electritution(enough said) For your "revising" of DMTavern 1 could you make it a continous loop with the timer set to reset stats instead of reboot? Because my computer is fast but has problems with reestablishing connections to servers when they reboot(I think it is for the same reason my friends list won't work in game). stair bug:
somtimes you run up stairs (especially steep ones) you are lighty thrown into the air (like 2 or 3 cm) that wouldn't be to bad if you wouldn't be at 0 speed when you land again (you even face the movement speed penalty as if you would have jumped like 2 or 3 times while you simply ran) rubberbanding: 'nuff said even though i doubt anyone can do anything about it (but kuju 4 sure >.< ) stance bug: warrior: sometimes the animation of a prepared stance is shown even though you can't release it you sword remains "locked" until it changes back to normal (happens most often with the left stance afaik) assassin: when you do some attacks and then want to do a stance you have to wait until your daggers go back to normal before presseing mouse1 if you don't it "locks" your daggers in an attack animation until you stop pressing mouse1 fire and explosions are going through walls (doubt that that can be changed) safeguard should block the explosion damage from fireballs (when they explode in front of the safeguarding warri that is) when you prepare lightning with the mage sometimes the soud doesn't play and some other times the animation bugs totally out (happens sometimes together with the sound bug) ah and as we all know the old description from beta days could be updated some time and i still say that we need to get rid of the lags in meele range before getting rid of lockon (which is there to compensate for said lags |

Well... there have been frequent lag waves lasting about 10 minutes or so and making fighting hard for mages and archers.

None of that can be done... Don't have any tools to make that. No one ever game 'em to me
What? And Steam friends don't work in Dark Messiah because Dark Messiah is not integrated with steam. It doesn't work for everyone... I thought fire orbs are never instant kill weapons even at highest level..

Not level... Affinity. They are by default insta kill on highest fire affinity. However DMTavern #1 as well as all of the OFFICIAL EUROPEAN servers have the power of them set lower. |

I thought that noobs spaming it on instakill or half life drain was server wide... Would it be possible to set it so shields always block arrows up close? I saw the note of it in the -CA- server thread. I don't think the 1000 note is really required, but within a second's sprint or so from an archer, they really shouldn't be able to laugh off a warrior with a ridiculously easy headshot.

No, only at point blank should an archer be denied that, is what I am suggesting. As it stands in the game, an archer is really better in melee than a warrior is, because as the target comes in to engage in melee, he has a ridiculously easy headshot that kills instantly. That's alright for assassins (they can cloak), but warriors have no defense against and basically have to pray that the archer is bad. |

If you are referring to triple shot, then that's what needs to be addressed.
Making a warrior invulnerable at melee range is OP. Stance attacks + leap attack are more than enough for a warrior to take down an archer. Stance attack means they can't shoot. What do you think would happen when you put your shield up? They'd jump away and shoot your feet. If you play defensively an offensive class like archer will drop you quickly. IMO Warrior vs Archer is one of the most balanced duels, and is the one I enjoy the most when playing warrior. |
