The following settings are located within the bia.ini file (located in SYSTEM folder).
Don't forget to make a BACKUP of your original bia.ini file, and then make sure your modified bia.ini file is set to READ ONLY to prevent the game overwriting the modifications you've just made. Tweaking them *may* improve your game, please add more if you find them: Graphics quote: Try increasing the allocated cache size to suit your gfx card (Ive set this to 64 for my 128mb card). Sound quote: These are disabled by default. Setting these to TRUE may enable EAX/Surround Sound ingame. Update: If you set both to true and get an echo effect, set UseEAX=False to see if that fixes it. Gore quote: As mentioned in other threads, adding "GoreLevel=3" increases the gore apparently. Though read only may cause MP errors as stated by spawn.

Whenever I change these, play a game, and check them, they always revert to the default ****, any reason why?

^make sure its read only.

I HAVE to clear something up for you guys:
The CacheMegSize parameter is ONLY for cacheing online objects (like maps and other things). Proof? Set it to one ("1") and the game will still start. (You can't set it to zero ("0"), however, because it needs at least one MB to initialize the engine) This is the same for ALL games that use Unreal Engine. This goes for Splinter Cell, Raven Shield, UT2004 (obviously) and others. I just thought you guys would want to know that... |

quote: You have to add it at the bottom of your other values, save it, then set the bia.ini file to READ ONLY. Greetz IceT |

I tried the EAX and 3D sound, but all it did was make everything echo.

quote: Setting the refresh rate in the bia.ini file may not have any effect (please post to let everyone know if it does). If your using an ATI RADEON card with the Catalyst drivers, you can configure all games to run at the same refresh rate of your desktop via the DISPLAYS tab of the Display Properties by setting the REFRESH RATE OVERRIDE to "same as desktop" (and set your desktop to 85Hz). quote: Try using the following to remove the echo: UseEAX=False Use3DSound=True quote: See the my own little patch thread by Scripter011, he knows of a means to do this. [ALAudio.ALAudioSubsystem]
UseEAX=True Use3DSound=False Channels=64 - EAX is for 5.1 audio You can also change to which EAX you want - 1 2 or 3 3DSound is usually for 2 speakers I believe.. Or headphones to give the effect of well.. 3d sound :S lol Not a good Idea to enable both!
