Below are the Official BIA Requirements for running the PC version. If you have any questions I will gladly hlp out. We need your PC specs. Processor speed, ram amount, and video card type. If your not sure how to acquire this information do this:
Go to Start> Go to Run> Type in "dxdiag" (without the "quotes")and hit enter. On the main page is your system specs...processor speed, motherboard, memeory, etc. Under the display tab, is your Graphics card information. System Requirements: Supported OS: Windows® 2000/XP (only) Processor: 1 GHz Pentium® III or AMD Athlon (2.5 GHz Pentium IV or AMD recommended) RAM: 512 MB (1 GB recommended) Video Card: 32 MB DirectX® 9.0c compliant (see supported list*) Sound Card: 16 bit DirectX 9.0c-compliant sound card (PC audio solution containing Dolby® Digital Live required for Dolby Digital audio) DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (included on disc) DVD-ROM: 4x DVD-ROM (8x or better recommended) Hard Drive Space: 5 GB Peripherals: Windows keyboard and mouse only Multiplayer: Broadband with 64 kbps upstream (128 kbps recommended) *Supported Video Cards at Time of Release: ATI Radeon 8500/9000/X series NVIDIA® GeForce™ 3/4/FX/6 series (GeForce 4 MX not supported) Laptop models of these cards not supported. These chipsets are the only ones that will run this game. Additional chipsets may be supported after release. For an up-to-date list of supported chipsets, please visit the FAQ for this game on our support website at: http://support.ubi.com. NOTICE: This game contains technology intended to prevent copying that may conflict with some DVD-RW, and virtual drives. NVIDIA® nForce™ or other motherboards/soundcards containing the Dolby® Digital Interactive Content Encoder required for Dolby Digital audio. This Graph is from www.TomsHArdware.com , it shows performance levels on most graphics card in Call of Duty. This will give us an approximate idea of how these cards stack up performance wise...and gives in inkling on how they MAY perform in BIA. Please keep it clean. No excessive posting or Off topic posting. I will try to answer you guys all A.S.A.P. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Burke1stSgt., |

Will this game only run on a DVD-Drive? On your system requirements above it is, but under the FAQ on the PC forums it says both CD and DVD.

Ubi Soft |
DVD only, the FAQ on the PC forums needs to be updated.

I imagine you are getting tired of answering spec questions when the details are posted but sometimes I have found you need more then the recommended. Will my system ( and monitor )run Brothers in Arms smoothly in Medium - High settings ??? Windows XP ( Service Pack 2 ) PIIII 2.5ghz CPU 768 DDR Ram 128 MB GeFore FX 5200 ( not ultra ) Sound Blaster 5.1 MONITOR - 17in Planar LCD Flat Panel with 16ms response time System is not connected to the internet and is very clean. Any insight would be helpful. I am tight on money and can't really upgrade my video card or I probably would have looked into that already. Thanks - jg1234 |

Umm...Thats though..see Im not 100% sure what engine its built on...which does make a difference on hardware and performance. Everything of yours is up and past, what i am now reffering to as "The Bar". If my engine assumptions are correct, Im going to say Medium smoothly. Your video card is what will be holding you back. Until we actually get the game, or demo, we wont know how well the lower end cards will perform on higher settings. Hope that helps a little.

That helps. I appreciate it. If you don't mind me pestering - I may wait 3 - 4 weeks and post another reply to this string to see if you or anyone else has more hands on with some lower end cards. I didn't want to shell out the money unti I am sure since I am thinking about buying a few other games. Thanks again- jg1234 |

Gotcha I dont blame you. The demo should be out, im guessing 1 -2 weeks after release. That will give you the best idea..it gives you first hand knowledge on your own box.

Hi All,
Ok, the system requirements pretty much defines notebook insatllation as unsupported. However, I would like to ask about my specific system just in case it might be worth trying. I have an HP Pavilion zd7000 series media center notebook. It contains: Windows XP Media Center Edition (2004) 3.2 GHz Pentium 4 Processor w/HT 1GB RAM Conexant AMC Audio intergrated audio (though I am considering buying the Audigy 2 ZS Notebook PC Card) And now for the real problem... My system has the NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5700 with 128MB of memory. And a 8X DVD +/- RW drive. Will BIA not run on my system at all? Or is it just not supported and thus might work but the developers haven't tested it with the mobile chipsets as of yet? I loved Medal of Honor and Call of Duty and am ready for a new game. |

Im not totally sure on this. I belive that the mobile chipsets are okay. Its the graphics drivers that leaves them unsupported. Which From the PC specs, I understand may have a driver update from the mnaufactuerer, which would correct this. But tahts rumors ive heard. Im am not 100% sure on this, so im going to say sorry, and I dont know.
Try hear http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com/ubbthreads.php in the tech area. |
