So I bought the game today and didn't notice the 4 MX is not supported until I started installing the game, whoops. I've never seen that before and didn't really see any way that my computer wouldn't play the game. So since it will be hard to return an opened game to Best Buy and I dont feel like dropping anymore cash just to play a game, is there any way to get the game to work with a MX 4 card? Is the any possible patch to be released in the future?

sorry to say..I highly doubt they would. They MX cards do not support some sort of shader that BIA uses to run.

Would be great if they did fix the issue but then again, they did specifically say on the box that it was not supported.

i had the same problem mate,,,,but lucky enough i got a loan of an fx5900xt card until i save up for a 6600gt one.
The writting on the box is far to small to read,u need a magnifying glass to read the writting lol something should be done about this,how many people have been caught out by it!!!!

hi, i think i've got a little trick that might help you to play the game even though your video card doesnt allow pixel shaders...

Basically, i've got a laptop with an ATI radeon mobility 7500 32mb, and as most of you know, you need at least a 8500 to play the game (because the 8500 supports pixel shaders while the 7500 doesnt). So i decided to grab the BIA demo and try to make it work with a little tool called 3d-analyze. what it does is basically make the game believe your card supports features it actually does not...

Tried several times using the settings other people used for other games, tried on google to search for topics where people would explain how to make BIA/EIB work with 3d analyze : no success... But today i tried a few different things and i finally managed to get it work ! (been waiting to play this demo since it was out lol).

So here is the deal: 1st you need that little prog called 3d analyze :

I dont know what other stuff you would need to bypass with a geforce 4 MX, but with a radeon 7500 which is somewhat from the same generation (?) that help at least to see the game (without that all i get is a black screen...).

Next in the menu, i got all the black parts showing white. maybe thats just specific to my card and my drivers. anyway to fix that i can either change the resolution in game settings (a good refresh fixes it) or i noticed pressing CTRL+ALT+SUPR and opening the task manager, then closing (the task manager, not the game !) and going back ingame did the trick to...

so after that i finally get to play the game... with one minor (well not so minor) inconvenience... all the uniforms are white and the faces are weird... i guess thats the price to pay for not having pixel shader support.

I havent tried many settings yet so maybe theres a way around this too (or once again maybe its just my drivers and my card.. who knows)

Seeing that the tanker's uniform is displayed properly makes me think it might also be something wrong with my demo version of BIA (maybe the install was messed up and the texture files are missing/corrupted) - i'll try again soon.

Since my graphic card is **** i also put all details to minimum, but somehow even with grass at max details i still cant see any grass except the hedgerow's...

anyway i'm not saying its a better solution than buying a new card but its a cheap solution if you already bought the game... and it might work better on your computer too
