I have tried everything. I have reinstalled, changed the settings of my monitor, deleted my EiB.ini file (as instructed to do in error message), I've even taken the old game back to the store and gotten a new one. However, the same problem still persists:
I get to this screen that says "Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood" after the screen that says "checking disk". It it the screen that appears when you attempt to play the game. However, I always get an error message reading:

"Error setting display mode: CheckDeviceFormat(2) failed (D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE). Please delete your EiB.ini file if this error prevents you from starting the game."

I have a Windows 2000 running on some type of x86 Family 6 Model 8 Stepping made by Compaq. I have 1000 MB of RAM allocated to any program at a time. My monitor is a Gateway EV700.

I have no idea what is going on or how to fix it. I've tried everything; I would appreciate any help and if you need any more information on this probolem to help then feel free to ask.
