Here's my dxdiag specs...but about after 15 minutes into the game, I get a tearing looking picture. It comes and goes. I've reloaded the game three times and always goes haywire at the scene where the windmill is, or about 15 minutes into the game.

This is pretty much the top of the line PC.

Any 'hep' would be great....

Here are a couple of things that might fix this issue. One is to install the PhysX drivers that come on the disk. There have been some issues with the updated version that you can find on NVIDIA's website. To do this you will want to first uninstall the PhysX drivers in the control panel. After this is completed have the disk in the drive and right click on the drive and select Explore. Choose the redist folder and you will see the PhysX folder.
If after installing the PhysX drivers from the disk and you are still getting the tearing try going into the NVIDIA control panel's 3D options and disable the PhysX. Also try setting the virtual synch to Force On if it is off or vise-versa if it is set to off already.
The system you have is definitely like you said high-end. Which actually could cause some compatibility issues. Both the processor and video card were released after the game was finished so your system has never been tested to run it.

OK, got it working. I started from your last suggestion and worked backward, seemed to be the easiest approach, set the virtual synch to force on and it now seems to work fine.
