Budget?

Otherwise 9800GT, 9800GTX, GTX260, ATI 4870.

There are more expencive ones aswell but those will all play this at max.

Assuming of corse you have the power supply to run them?

The best without changing the power supply you have 2 choices if money isn't an option.

Nvidia GTX260

ATI 4870

Both recomend a 500W PSU so you'll be fine. I'd opt for the ATI 4870 myself, they perform the similar but it's cheaper.

From some of the forum and members here it would seem that the AT 4870 is plagued with problems with this game and many others.

If you want a stable reliable card then Nvidia is the prefered choice.

Most, if not all, games are programed with nvidia in mind, very rarely do you find a game with an ATI logo when introducing a game.

Anyway this is my 2 cents worth, just didn't want you to get a card because its cheaperwith out truly weighing up the pros and the cons.

Thats me done here,

flecther I have owned 2x HD3870 cards for nearly a year now and while I can not speak for the 4870 there has been no games what so ever that the cards couldn't run.

BIAHH had problems with the black friday mission so I rolled back my driver version to 8.4 and everything is sweet. Will go back to newest driver when they get the patch out.

wedgie as for your statement of "If you want a stable reliable card then Nvidia is the prefered choice" is not 100% correct because my 3870 cards have been so reliable it's not funny, lol.

And yes I have played all the top games including Crysis on highest specs.

I am not against Nvidia at all they have some fantastic quality cards, I am only stating my personal experience with ATI cards.

The 4870x2 is the fastest card on the market as we speak so I am sure ATI will give better support for this series.

If you want the ATI 4870 X2 then you'll requir a new power supply. On Guru 3D they recomend a 750-800W PSU for that card.

Despite what wedgie says there are actually very few problems with ATI cards, I have the 4870 myself and the black friday issues is the first ever problem i've had with it. And never had issues with other ATI cards either.
Besides by the time you get the card a patch will be out to fix that anyway.
