I've got the full release edition of Windows Vista. I had this game installed on my XP machine and have now built a new machine. But I can't get the game to install on Vista. I've tried Hill 30 and EIB but both have problems with the CD install. I double click on the setup.exe, the hourglass appears a few times for about ten seconds and then nothing. Sometimes the "did this program install correctly" window appears and I can try to install it in compatibility mode, but this doesn't work either.

Is there a fix 'cos I'd love to play this game on my new machine which could cope with all the graphics set to max.

I'd love to get this working on Vista too! Seems odd that the first BIA works fine and the second does not!

I bought the second hoping for the same level of compatibility - not a regression!

Same problem here. BIA 1 installed fine on Vista Home Premium, but BIA:EIB does not. Solution found yet?

me too, Vista permium, and the install exe just sits in the task manager and does nothing...

So I have to deinstall vista to get this working. Neat.

I tried everything, run as admin, run in compat mode etc... for some reason, vista won't let the exe do anything. Everything else works though,

Yep, same here. First game, no problem. EIB, fires up and then dies out of setup.

Hopefully someone will help us out here.

Same problem here.

Let's hope someone at Ubi pulls out their finger and comes up with a solution.

apparently EIB uses starforce and it cannot create the virtual device in vista like it could in XP....am still looking for a solution myself

Have you all tried dloaded the Vista compatible Starforce(copy protection) drivers?
http://www.star-force.com/support/sfdrvup.zip

These supposedly fixes the copy protection system which is the very thing that locks up the Vista System.

Let me know how it went as i am contemplating a Vista upgrade but now rather hesitant because of this.

This is pretty pathetic. A company as big as Ubisoft should definitely have a patch for something as simple as Vista!!
