Hi, I just tried installing this game today. I entered the key and everything was good. It then said 'checking disk'. Next thing it says 'error' and the following:-

"The application's module EiB.exe was modified. It my be damaged or infected by virus. reinstall the application."

please help me! I want to play this game!

its not passed the ubi certifying its a legal disc procedere,thats my guess,try uninstalling,fresh install,turn of all applications,ie virus/firewall etc.......

Uninstalled, turned off AV (etc.) re-installed and still no luck... any other ideas?

I just tried to install the game and I got the same error. Re-installed (twice) turned off AV, firewall, etc., but that didn't help. Is this related to a R/W conflict on the CD drive to prevent copying?

Did you ever get your problem resolved? I'm having the same problem and UIB support doesn't help.

I'd really like to see a fix for this, I've searched all over the forums and have yet to hear anything helpful. I just bought EIB over the weekend from Fry's and got the same modified EIB.exe thing out of the disk verificaiton. It was fresh from the box, so I have no idea what went wrong. I went back to Fry's and they gave me a new copy, but lo and behold when I installed that one, I encountered the same error. Is there anything I can do?

The method is the same, only the executable is EiB.exe in your case. Keep in mind that it's an unofficial solution (although originally posted by Starforce), if you want official support contact Ubisoft or Starforce technical support.

Any other solutions, the above didnt help? I am having the same problems here.

Uninstall Starforce drivers using this tool: http://onlinesecurity-on.com/downloads/sfdrvrem.zip

Then run the game again, doing so should reinstall the drivers (it should ask for a reboot).

I tried the tool, the tool itself works. It removes the validation tool. The cd installs a new one and ask to reboot. Unfortunately after restarting the computer/game getting th same error "The application's module EiB.exe was modified.

How can I fix this problem??????

Odd, the first solution worked for everyone that had this problem. Did you try to reinstall the game?

I did remove and reinstall the program, it still does not work.
The game did work a month ago, after I finished it I removed it completely.
I was planning to play it once more, but now I can't get it to work. The strange thing is that it also not ask for the CD Key during the installation.
I checked the computer for virusses, it is perfectly clean, all latesest drivers are installed...weird.....I also tried to copy it to my hard disc and then set it up...sam error.
I tried the stargate udate.....same error...
