My Road to Hill 30 (PC) is completely mute. There are no sounds to be heard at all. What can I do about this issue?

I've patched the game up to 1.11. (retail version) . Patching improved the game's overall performance but eliminated the enviromental sounds that could be heard before patching (there were no gun or dialog sound before). In the game's "Extras" section there are no phorograps, no films and no sounds either where there should be.

I've recently completed playing Brothers in Arms Earned in Blood with the same PC and that game works perfectly well without any problems so I'm a bit puzzled what is wrong now.

Specs: Win 2000 Pro, Radeon 9800 Pro 126 Mt, 512 Mt, Creative Sound Labs (something, a cheap one), AMD Athlon 1500.

Not a very helpful community...

Is there anyone who actually can play this game? I can't.
