baffling BIA pc games problem!

gliding weapons.....

i have a very strange and baffling problem with
Brothers In Arms, (also Doom 3, and Vampire, Bloodlines,) When I press W (WASD)the weapon/person just glides along without stopping, it will just glide on for ages till it hits a wall or something, I cannot fire the weapon when this is happening and it happens every single time i fire up the game.I have changed drivers, keyboards, remapped keys, soundcards, etc and it is still happening, I am using windows xp, amd 2800 barton,radeon 9800, creative audigy s/card, etc. direct x 9c

even more weird, the demo of BIA works fine!

bet you have a joystick installed that is causing interference. If you do, unpug it and shut off any joystick software you have running and try again.

hi, thanks for the advice, unfortunately i haven't got a joystick attached, though that was the solution a while ago, when i had a similar problem, but could the drivers for a joystick still be installed?. If not it surely must be the game, as the demo of BIA works fine.
