First off, yes, I have searched the forums, and also read the sticky pertaining to CD-Key in use/missing issues. My issue is a bit different and am just looking for clarification...
(dealing with EiB here BTW...) Trying to play single player, which, if I understand correctly, uses the key located above the discs, inside the case, correct? I've tried it with the dashes, and without the dashes, with the EIB, and without the EIB, with a 0, and with an O, and all combinations that those variables give me, all to no avail. So, am I missing something? Not trying to start a Starforce flamefest here, just want to be able to play the game... TIA EDIT: OMG...just went to the support site and found out that the CD-Key itself is *not* in the EIB-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX format...strangest thing ever...my sticker inside my case *is* in the EIB- format, with no key on the back of my manual. I suppose it's a good thing I don't do MP Anywho, I used the CD-Key directly from the support site and it worked, so now I can play the game, but doesn't posting the CD-Key on the support website defeat the purpose of having one in the first place? Do we all have the same CD-Key for authentication? I'm confused...but now I have a game to play. |
