I've known about the game for a while now, but it wasn't until I saw a review on X-Play the other day that I thought it seemed pretty cool. I still don't know that I would buy the game - for one reason I don't really identify with the game's characters or world (I'm more of a fantasy RPG/strategy guy) and also the game has a lot of references to wrestling and the Yakuza. I really like the artistic style of the game and the way it's open-ended and has a deep story, and it's also one of the more hardcore games for the Wii I've seen in a while.
I'd really like to see this game sell well, I'm a proud Wii owner but I'm pretty disappointed by Nintendo's decision to push the whole 'casual' gaming thing. Wii Sports is a tech demo, a tech demo already!!! Instead of making nothing but Brain Age knock-offs and mini-game collections, I think developers should be focusing on implementing the capabilities of the Wii hardware into hardcore gameplay like this.
Anyway, how smoothly does the motion-sensing tie into the action in this game? Does it feel kinda forced like the spinning attacks in Twilight Princess and Mario Galaxy, unintuitive like the dang Wii Sports games or does it really improve on the technology? Also, how open-ended is No More Heroes - they keep mentioning how you can work jobs to earn money, but is this all you can do? Or is it almost as open-ended as, say, Grand Theft Auto in the way that you can do things and make decisions in the game?
U.S. gamers do not know about this stuff yet because it's official release date is not until tomorrow with it arriving in stores Wednesday. I will post impressions upon picking my pre-order up on Wednesday!

Just one question, how did you see a review on X-Play if the review is not airing for the first time until tomorrow night at 8pm? Or did you see a preview?
Must have been a preview of the game, but X-Play showed gameplay footage, as well as cut-scenes from the game to explain the plot. If I hadn't seen that clip of the game then I probably wouldn't be here posting right now.
This game was actually featured as the cover story for Nintendo Power at the end of last year, and I didn't bother reading the article because it just didn't seem like something I would play based on first impressions. Lo and behold its a game about a guy obsessed with Japan that buys a lightsaber on EBay and becomes the world's next best assassin. It's got the kind of humor and seriousness that you really don't see in too many games these days, and the gameplay footage - it almost reminds me of the fun I had in Drakengard fighting groups of people mixed with the variety in controls of Zelda.

I get Nintendo Power in the mail and I found the preview of No More Heroes they did in that issue to be one of the better written articles that they have had for quite awhile.
Hope you buy the game - it does look to be pretty awesome!
The controls of the title are set to be much better than Zelda because of a few reasons: 1. The sword fighting has way more depth than Zelda (as you would find out from the Nintendo Power article), 2. Integrated "wrestling controls" for fighting, and 3. The main character's name is Travis Touchdown and not Link (that has nothing to do with controls, but still...)
Well, you can always name the charecter from Zelda, so you can name him Travis T. instead of Link. But Ovirew is right; Link is a good name. I'm getting this game tomorrow and gametrailers.com already has a review, you guys should check it out!

It is not "wrestling" per-say, but there is hand combat included that has him doing maneuvers that look like they could come from wrestling, which some gameplay videos.
I am not seeing Link is a bad name, but the allure of the names that are used in this game is undeniable.
I have a friend who still watches wrestling, I have no idea what he sees in it since it is simply a soap opera with men in tights. But anyways he will be ecstatic that you have the ability to preform suplexes and that sort of thing. I am also looking forward to seeing how the Wii controls will work with it.
I played Zelda and it was fun with the remote but it was fairly obvious that it was not built specifically for the Wii.

Yeah, I wasn't too thrilled with the wii remote's motion-capabilities being used to make Link attack, but you've got to remember that this game was delayed for so long that it was coming out at the end of the Gamecube's lifespan, so they wanted to port it to the Wii so that more people would be able to play it. When taken as a whole I think that the graphics in the game are still pretty modern, and the sword thing isn't such a big deal since you use your other weapons just as much.

The game is beyond awesome, it's more or less the "God Hand" of the wii and the "Hack and Slash" genre. In other terms, despite its flaws its the best at what it does.
Many will be turned off by its M rating and stylized graphics. And their assumptions will force them to miss out on a totally great game.
