I don't know what is the real name of this move but it's the one that Travis moves on the side of the target, the background become dark and then you're free to combo. So here's my question, how do you perform a "darkstep". I can do it by spamming Left and Right while blocking a chain attack but what is the real way to perform it?
p.s. If someone know the real name of this move, please let me know. |

I actually don't know how exactly to do it... I never even noticed the inconsistencies in the move until the end of the game. But after working at it, I'm not even sure that there's technique involved...
Here's how I think it works (though I can only guess): The "Darkstep" is actually random, and less likely to occur than the normal slide. However, once activated, the probabilities switch, and the normal slide becomes less likely to occur than the darkstep. Once the normal step occurs again, the probabilities switch yet again, and the cycle continues... ...I think. |

One thing i've noticed while playing (of course this may be just me) is when I hold the analog left or right, it normally does. I'll have to play again to double check, but that's my hypothesis.

Awesome a new member. We need to keep this place active, like for real. Anywho...the Darkstep technique...you press a side direction the second before you get hit while holding on to the lock on. I used to ask the same question, as to how do I do it...but i'm pretty sure that's it.

That's right! This place needs to stay alive!!! I finally found a place I can be nerdy about No More Heroes without someone calling the beam katana a light sabre... *sighs*

wow, well this is actually more of simply dodging the enemy's attack and side stepping. If you notice when this happens you see a question mark on their head and that when you can unleash quite a few combos. The only way i think you can activate it is when the enemy is about to strike you, press right or left on the d-pad and it should work, if it doesnt youll just side roll.....
