Well... No. But the creator Goichi Suda or Suda 51 has already expressed his intention to create another!
quote:
"I'm really willing to make a sequel version--and right now I'm asking if it can be made," he said. Suda 51 also added that he wouldn't want to create games that other developers usually come up with.
Suda 51 was also asked about the difference between between the American version of No More Heroes compared to the Japanese and European release. "The American market has more of a predilection to a more violent version," he explained, adding that the Europeans and Japanese generally prefer their games more action-oriented. However, he was quick to point out that "neither version is better."
What are your thoughts? I would personally love a sequel and I have yet to play the game!

I remember reading around an interview or something about a trilogy, but of fear that I would accidently spoil the storyline, ending and such, I totally disregarded it.
Although it is certainly a must that the Wii have games in the vein of No More Heroes. Developers are being driven away with the Wii Remote and have completely ignored the fact that there are actually people who enjoy traditional action games.
Yeah, even though I don't have the game yet (preordered and payed in full though), I'd already love to have a sequel Hopefully the game sells well in the US (though I'm sorta doubting it will...you kinda have to shove advertisements down americans throats to get a Wii game to sell here) and we'll get one.
Perhaps if it is a trilogy, the third will end up on the Wii HD, seeing as this game took some 2 years to make, and he has other projects (Fatal Frame for Wii, a 360 game) he's working on...could be a pretty beautiful game.
I am a huge fan Suda 51's work like the amazing Samurai Champloo, Killer 7 and Contact. So even though I have not played No More Heroes yet I know it will be good. I have fully paid for my copy and I am just waiting impatiently to pick it up. So obviously I love to see a sequel or trilogy for this game. I would love to see Suda 51 turn "Project S" into a game for the Wii also as well as a collaborative console RPG between Suda 51 and Shigesato Itoi. So hopefully the powers that be will read this and make it happen.
the first one hasn't even had the chance to sell yet, why would we want another one so soon?
Maybe in a year or more, yes, but in the meantime they should review the game and determine what they can do to make the next one better, if they do make a sequel.
I'm pretty sure we'll get a sequel if A) The game gets positive reviews from multiple sources, and B) The game gets good sales. But then again, Travis will have been the #1 assasin, so now what? He'll have to become the #1 ninja next! Go Travis! Kick Naruto's ass!
I would love if suda made a fighting game based off of No More Heroes , just think about suplexing your bestfriend after u slice n dice em, the characters in this game are ready for a fighting game
To those who have played and beaten it... (To those that have not, do it already or avoid this post because it has forms of spoilers)
"No More Heroes Forever" should definately be the sequal title. Or maybe "No More Villains".
In the game ending Sylvia said there would be no sequal, and then it said "to be continued" so its difficult to say either way...(Though a sequel would be nice)
What does all this mean.. we'll probably either get a spiritual sequel(same kinda game but new everything else, including main character) or some off the wall direct sequel maybe featuring the brotherly feud (though that last double blow looked pretty fatal for both.
Hard to say, either way.. No More Heroes was a fun game that will probably end up a cult classic like God Hand!
Just finished playing through and the game was absolutely amazing. 18 hours and i'm just itching for more (Bitter Mode here I come!). I really hope that Suda51 decides and gets okay'd on making a sequel to No More Heroes. Hopefully sales will go great down here (again, hoping) in America for there to be a definite yes.
As for my predictions on what the 2nd in the series would be like, I would have to agree with Jarexx with the whole "spiritual sequel" deal. I see virtually no possible way in terms of story and cannoninity that there would be a direct sequel. It just seems damn near impossible. Maybe the sequel will go along the lines of having Travis's story be a legend that some other otaku (yes! I said it!) decides to follow.
I also think (although its pretty much pushing the NMH envelope) that there should be some sort of side-story/extension game that connects some of the other players into the theme, such as Harvey and Jeane. Something like "NMH: Harvey's Quest" or "NMH: Legend of Jeane".
I think this game is outstanding!!! It definitely needs a sequel. I have never played a game like this. The story can go in any direction for a sequel, prequel, or even a spin-off...We definitely need another No More Horoes!!!
