Do you have any simple suggestions on what Ubisoft Paris could be careful next time, so that none of their games will turn out as bad as Far Cry Vengeance?

Not sure, but wasn't it Ubisoft Montreal?

As for improvements... in a word: playtesting.

If they had tested it before releasing it, they might've caught the fundamental errors in this game (horrific slowdown, freezing, textures disappearing, game logic errors). I can live with the pathetic enemy AI.

Oh, yes, you're right about that. It was certainly Ubisoft Montreal because I had just looked the game's info up on Wikipedia and I found that the developer is Ubisoft Montreal.

It surprises me how Ubisoft Montreal was able to handle their Splinter Cell franchise very well while the other games that were created mainly by other developers turned out for the worse. Why can't the original developers of Rainbow Six and Far Cry stick to all their games, especially these franchises?

Anyways, I think that it would be a great idea to strengthen the Far Cry franchise with another Wii title, but they're going to need a great deal of time.

Feel free to comment on my suggestions:

- Add many weapons of which there is a variety (Vengeance didn't have a good plenty of guns, so it didn't feel impressive or good for the shooter genre). This can allow for better destructible environments other than little objects. If Black can do a good deal of explosions then why can't a Wii game do better, especially when it's more powerful?

- Enhance the graphics further: The game had a terrible deal of details, so having realistic shadows, real looking outfits, and possibly more will help it be drop down gorgeous, especially for a Wii title. Hopefully, it could do a lot better than Red Steel, which so far is the best looking Wii game as I'd say.

- Smart AI: Now if the AI could be any better than Red Steel's, which was both bad and good to some extents, it could feel like a great shooter to actually be playing.

- A unique save system: Having one where you can save possibly anywhere would really do some great help for the game. Take Chaos Theory's as an example. It gave you the ability to save practically anywhere, at any time.

- An online experiencea and a greater selection of multiplayer modes: Chaos and Predator weren't good enough to make it a fun experience. Also, if an online play could possibly added, it could really immersive players in the game and be the kind of game that feels right to be in a jungle when playing with many players.

The better game developers work, the harder that I will put any effort into my games.

Those suggestions sound great. The enemy AI is an issue on Far Cry. You seem to be able to stand in an enemy's field of vision sometimes and they won't notice you. Also I once ambushed a group of soldiers on island 6 from behind emptying my assault rifle into them and the one guy left standing didn't even bother to turn around which kind of disproves any claim of artificial "intelligence". I'm also not sure how to set up traps as it's not properly explained in the game and the idea of traps adds another layer of depth that I'd like to see more of in any future Far Cry games.

The game was also advertised as being free roaming. The game itself is very linear. There are invisible walls everywhere. You think you can walk off into the jungle, but are stopped in your tracks by a static mesh bush. It would be much better if you could run around in the jungle a bit more.

Concerning the released game, does anyone else think it should be recalled? I'm thinking of setting up a petition and posting the link across the major game forums. Let me know if you think this sounds good.

Yes, I think that would be a great idea! Maybe this will wake them up a bit to release at least a patch.

Are you sure they were advertizing the version for the Wii platform? It could have been earlier versions.

Honestly, I wish you good luck. On the other hand, if someone could bring a proof that the Wii version art box screenshots are 'photoshopped' Xbox 360 screenshots...

Good suggestion, especially for when it comes to making the game fixed up more, which can simply help the game a little. While it may not give it very much, it is a good step since people will still probably be playing the game at any time.
