As some of you may know, I'm a contributor to The Skinny, a lifestyle magazine that's distributed around Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee. There're are numerous sections in it, such as Film, Theatre, Fashion, LGBT, etc, but I mainly write for the Beats, the electronic/dance/hip-hop/world music section. However, I decided to submit a review of Dynasty Warriors 6 to see what the editors thought, and it got published!

Wish I could go back and give it three now, due to its lack of Musou modes, decreasing its longevity.

I thought you were a tad too flattering giving the game a 4, especially when you admit it is very much a love it or hate it thing. I guess I'm not sure which camp I fall into yet. The games ARE fun - for a little while. It's just the repetition that ruins it for me, y'know? Still, if they're on number six, they obviously can't be doing too badly...

Also, I knew a bunch of Slevins including a slightly demented red-headed teacher I had in primary school. Man, he was a bit scary... but also funny

I have to admit, it is repetitive, but for some reason, I find it great fun just slashing people up for hours on end... as long as I have a purpose for doing so. In DW6, the biggest thing that kept me doing the same thing over and over again was the story modes for each character, but for some reason, they've only included Legends for 17 of the characters, when there's almost 40 in the actual game. I've got no motivation to rank up that number of characters to Level 50 on random maps when they have no story to accompany them. That's a massive step backwards from the last-generation versions of the game, which had story modes for ALL 41 characters, and severely impacts the longevity of the game.
I hadn't completed all available Musou modes by the time I'd finished and submitted the review, but if I had, I'd have given it a three for that reason.
