You can dance if you want to, you can leave your friends behind, 'cos your friends don't dance and if they don't dance then they're no friends of mine!

I came across this video on youtube.

It's an early version of the video for Take On Me by a-ha.

Compare it with the version that got on the air.

Quite a difference.

((Bonus--the sequel video of sorts--The Sun Always Shines on TV))

Yeah, the tumbling girl in that A-Ha video was a bit of a rip-off on Asia's "Only Time Will Tell" video, so that's another reason why it was a good idea to change it.

Asia -- Only Time Will Tell

Here are a couple of rare ones:
B.E. Taylor -- Vitamin L

Ian Hunter -- All of the Good Ones Are Taken

And a SUPER RARE one that I've been looking for since I first logged onto the 'net!

Bobby Jimmy & the Critters -- We Like Ugly Women (The video doesn't belong to the song. I've never seen a video for the song.)

Don't know if I posted this one in the past, but:

Icehouse--Electric Blue

I don't think these have been the forums as well:

The Moody Blues--Your Wildest Dreams and I Know You're Out There Somewhere.

Originally released in 1986, Your Wildest Dreams tells the story of a man who remembers his first love and wonders if she remembers him the same way he remembers her. In 1988, the band released a sequel--I Know You're Out There Somewhere. In that song, the man realizes he still loves her and vows to return again to her.

((Above courtesy of wikipedia)).

I Know You're Out There Somewhere was one of my favorites from the 80s. I picked up Your Wildest Dreams from VH1 when they aired it during one of their marathons in the 90s. I never realized that the two songs/videos went together the way they did until I picked up a DVD collection of their videos and saw the video for I Know You're Out There Somewhere.

((Before I found out how they went together, I sort of pictured I Know You're Out There Somewhere being about lost love and reuniting with that person)).

Yep, "Wildest Dreams" is one of my favorite videos of the '80's. It has staying power.

Bah, they've compressed it too heavily. This video's a lovely one and deserves to be seen in all its glory. I love the dark eyeliner both actresses wear during the '60's/'70's. Reminds me of Natalie Wood, or my gorgeous kindergarten teacher (who looked like Natalie Wood...I was her pet...life's gone downhill from there).

Didn't know about the sequel! Thanks!

Well, it looks to me like they used the same lady, but went with a different girl. BOO! I liked the girl from the first video. She was the picture of cute.

Let's go the movies (part 1):

Pretty In Pink:

OMD (Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark)--If You Leave

Top Gun:

Berlin--Take My Breath Away

Kenny Loggins--Danger Zone

Harold Faltermeyer--Top Gun Anthem

Cheap Trick--Mighty Wings
(not the official music video of the song, but it was the best I could find).

Cocktail:

The Beach Boys--Kokomo

The Breakfast Club:

Simple Minds--Don't You Forget About Me

I think that's about it for now.

Arc, when I was over in England they had a show on the telly about some teen girls magazine, how it influenced its readers and how it changed over the years.

At least one of the girls followed in the documentary had the same eyeliner as the girl in the Wildest Dreams video.

The show made it sound like the idea of a girl's only life-choice being marriage and children was more lasting in the UK than in the U.S.

Bored about cheddar? Never! (I have a huge block of the stuff at home; it'll probably last about a week. Maybe less)

Funny, there's a place near Belfast called Nutts Corner. But I don't want to bore you all about... corners

"She's like the wind/blowin' through my tree..."

I'll never forgive Patrick Swayze for those lyrics. Good thing he kicked ass in "Red Dawn"!

That video rocked. Liked the funnies. Clap

A friend of mine made an IL-2 mission for us where some kind of enemy boats were quite some distance away (practically impossible to see), but pounding our airstrip with artillery rounds. It was very suspenseful getting up and going before we got blasted.

Once, either my friend or his girlfriend exploded right in front of me on the strip, direct hit with a shell. I had to taxi around, "Excuse me, excuse me..."

Great fun.

I liked crash-sledding in the snow. That was always fun, especially when you didn't stay down on the first slide.

Great game.

Say, do you know "TheAvonLady" in Silent Hunter 4? She was a bigtime guru in Operation Flashpoint. I went one-on-one with her in Delta Force 2, once. She jumped OVER two of the LAW rockets I fired at her from a great distance away, then while I tried to spot her to shoot her, she circled around the whole valley and rammed a K-Bar (Marine knife) in my back while I continued searching through binoculars.

The good ol' days. Sad
