BAH! yourself! Isn't Traveller's Tales a pretty small developer as these things go? Besides, the Lego games are ostensibly for kids... it just so happens some of those kids are HUGE! Possibly with grey hair etc

Have I dug a hole for myself here? *thinks* Erm, I said possibly... *runs as if being pursued by a boulder (yes, I know a boulder can't really pursue)/Nazis/angry tribespeople*

But surely a realistic version of Indiana Jones won't have the same cutesy charm as the Lego game?
Still not sure which will be better: Indy or Batman.
see are you running away from lego versions of all this?
because if you arent, you will be when lego universe comes out(least i hope so, i know very little about it except it involves lego and the universe..)

this game is a must buy for me. I love indiana jones & I love lego.
I would have actually gone out & bought some of the actual lego indy kits they have released, but I don't have any more room on my shelves thanks to all the star wars lego kits
Resisting the urge to download the demo though as I've just got my hands on a copy of UT3 for PC

Downloaded and played it for a while. I gave up though. My team mate kept committing subside and when I swapped to get the other one over the first one decided to plunge into the depths
i think its to keep those few people that claim intolerance from going mad that a game aimed mainly at kids has nazis as it isnt specifically a WWII thing, but i could be wrong

If they are the enemies in the movie, then they should the enemies in the game. Just about every indiana jones game that i've played except for the arcade version of the Temple of Doom had Nazis in it, and I've played most of them . Indiana Jones and the Fate of the Atlantis is my favorite BTW. But i can't remember if i had it for the PC or the Amiga hmm. Anyway, it just wouldn't be the same indiana jones without the Nazis.
It would be like having a star wars game without the storm troopers.

It's a real mistake to make Nazi's taboo. We've always talked about the past openly. We've looked back and laughed, taken the piss out of and given no respect or credence to 'the third Reich' That's what we do. In fact Indiana Jones is a perfect example of how we've used our freedom of speech to make sure we never forget or get taken in by notions of fascism again.
The day we stop talking about it and start giving it undue fear and reverence it will start to creep back and before you know it we are deciding who is allowed to be a part of society based on the colour of their eyes.

Curse you Kitt for stealing the quote that I always use when anyone talks about Nazis. I hate you guy.
I suspect the reason why they've got rid of the Nazis is because you can play as them in free play. It probably doesn't sit right to be able to be a Nazi in a game aimed at kids.

I think a low poly count is great stuff. No structures loading in the distance, no decrease in framerate.. I think it's actually kind of hard to keep what you're making condensed and within a low poly count.
I do remember Jonathon talking about the Nazi issue, I can't remember the exact reasons he gave, but the kind of things the Nazi regime imposed are terrible. They would never, for example, create a "Lego 300" game, because Lego is a kids brand, they don't want to involve or show them politics and obscene violence that might be associated with that. It's easier to just leave the bad guys as generic bad guys. I don't think I'd enjoy the game more if the bad guys wore swasticas. Not that I remember the Nazi's posing obscene violence in any Indy films, but it's been a while, I don't actually remember.
