BREAKING NEWS...
I hate to be a hater...but technically I broke their record. Here's my proof www.myspace.com/bushleaguetv (The first video) Since I played single player for 24 hours and the Frag Dolls played multiplayer, (like a bunch of girls) with the load time differences between each mode, I technically played the actual game longer than you girls did. So...I'm throwing down the gantlet with the Frag Dolls by taking competitive gaming to the next level... On April 29, 2008... I'm attempting to break the official Guinness World Record by playing the brand new GTA 4 on the PS3 for 30 hours straight. I have filed all our paper work with Guinness and we are ready to go. We are also streaming the entire attempt on Yahoo Live. www.live.yahoo.com/bushleagedottv This is going to be a legit record attempt. I would love to get the Frig Dolls involved in this friendly rivalry. Unless they are a bunch of.... Sorry Ladies... you're good..but you are not better than me. Jim |

besides the absolutely unclassy and quite jerkish tone of your post, for one that wants to beat a gaming related record, you demonstrate that you haven't done your homework very well: the record that the Fragdolls set is "Longest Continuous Play of an FPS", and GTA4, well, is NOT an FPS. Maybe you can wait for June and try to beat ith with Metal Gear Solid 4? Oops... that's not an FPS as well. Try harder next time.  |

Was there a Starbucks nearby? I've noticed a pattern that wherever there is a Jamba Juice, there is a Starbucks within 2 blocks, usually visible.

Oh, I had a many things to say in this thread. But it looks like most of it has been said.
But the title of you thread is quite correct, they did not break the record, they SET the record, you'll need to call Guinness to get your attempt authorised. Best of luck with that. I assume you took the relevant notes and had the relevant witnesses present? Like Abriael said you are going to have a real problem breaking an FPS record playing GTA IV. The thing about it is that this guy is out to make a name for himself. The Dolls on the other hand did the record attempt to raise money for charity.

See the other day I was thinking the exact same thing about the guy who got the record for beard of bees. Only the other week I did a much larger beard of bees on my day off, it quite clearly trumped his beard of bees by a long way, but I was on my own in the house.
I'm guessing I should probably go post a rude shouty message on the beard of bees man's website to get my record recognised... |
