Nearly all "abandonware" versions of Chessmaster are available somewhere on the internet -- there's no need for you to do anything.
Also, it's not a good idea to come to an Ubisoft forum and ask about activity that is equivalent to stealing their property (it makes no difference if they've stopped selling it).

Actually, my post was an attempt to get information to avoid illegal activity.
I have a website which links to free chess software, and I wanted to see whether it was acceptable to link to older versions of CM.
