I found a "new" CM 10th Ed. Before I open it, I wanted to know if anyone had feedback on its use with Windows Vista OS.

I tried to run Chessmaster 10 on my laptop which has vista. It would not load. Before I upgraded to Vista, it did work. After...... not so much.

I was able to install and run CM 10th in vista (32 bit), but in order to do that, I had to set my PC into Compatibility Mode, so that CM can run as though the PC had an XP operating system.

In order to find the compatibility mode procedure, I went to the Windows start button, selected "Help and Support" and then did a search for compatibility mode...i'm sure there's probably a direct way to access it , but I'm not sure what that is.

But you can select XP as a compatibility option, and hopefully the program will run... to my surprise, it did work on my PC the first time I tried it with compatibility mode.

It does require me to put the CM 10 Disk 1 in the DVD drive in order for the program to run... i think there's a way around that as well, but I'm not at all sure what that method would be.
