1. How can I obtain the default grandmaster image? (so I can use it for custom personalities)
2. Is it possible to implement a custom grandmaster (like Kasparov, who didn't come with the game) so that it appears and disappears when you check and uncheck "grandmasters" in the play mode opponent selection?
3. The "additional personalities" from the download area have large opening books (>100kb). For instance, Kasparov now has a 144kb opening book. I have an earlier Kasparov with a 21.9kb book. Why are these different? What was the process used to create all of these new grandmasters (opening books and play style)? That seems like a lot of work.
4. Does anyone know why ratings of custom personalities are always their "base rating," while built-in personalities have a rating (above their base) which is machine-dependent?
Re. 1) I should have thought of that. Re. 3) I wish CMX could turn pgns into obks. You have to admit though that in a huge pgn of a player's games, only half of the moves are his. Are you able to tell CM9000 to unweight the other half?
I have a huge collection of zip files with grandmaster games. Do you want all the ones that correspond to the "Additional Personalities" package? I don't see why you need Capablanca and Fischer as they are included in CMX, unless you just want to make your own.
I got my zip files from the University of Pittburgh chess archives:University of Pittsburgh Chess Club They have an ftp site (very slow) with masses of games. For instance, the Tal collection has over 3000 games.
