I am using ChessMaster 9000. The Natural Language Advice used to work perfectly but recently when I ask it to play the results, it plays it back extremely fast and there is no sound. Would anybody have an idea of what went bad. Thanks

It's been stated before that some sound cards had problems with sound if hardware acceleration for DirectX was enabled... you could try adjusting it. Run 'dxdiag.exe', and under the Sounds tab, try adjusting the option for 'Hardware Sound Acceleration Level'.
Just out of curiousity, do you have all the patches installed? Check the About screen (select 'About Chessmaster 9000' on the Help menu); the latest update for Chessmaster 9000 is 1.02a. You can find the patches in the Chessmaster 10th Edition Downloads. Hope this helps! |

Thank you for the reply. I found the problem and it's a little embarrassing. I had the wrong disk in the drive. I had disk 2 in the drive and should have had 1 instead. Although advice worked fine, I guess when it needed to 'play' the answer it must have needed disk 1 for the language feature. Thanks for the help.
