I've searched and searched but cannot find a program that will convert descriptive notation to algebraic. Does anyone know if such a program exists?

I googled "descriptive to albgebraic" and found many pages discussing this. Here's one that includes a few links. I haven't tried any of them myself.

Thanks Darthmix. I also Googled but used the word "notation" and somehow missed these.

For those who might want to convert, note that chessbd (www.dfong.com/chessbd/) does the trick very nicely. Note also that after downloading one must go into chessbd.ini in the chessbd directory and add: "outnotation=2". Then the program converts descriptive to algebraic.
("outnotation=1" enables output in English descriptive. "outnotation=2" enables output in algebraic. "outnotation=0" enables output in same form as input.) "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" (Edmond Burke 1729-1797) |

Doesn't the last post from lewiej answer this?
