Just spent several hours of my Christmas Day trying to get Chessmaster 10 to load and run on three different computers:
1. Older Compaq (256MB, 700 Mhz, 60Gig Drive, with ME. (Load error) 2. New (2007) Gateway dual processor 120Gig hard drive, 2GigHz speed with XP Media Edition (loads and seems to run, but black screen, no visuals at all despite several different attempts at video settings (uses NVidea GForce 6 Card), GL settings, 2d etc..... 3. Older IBM XP Netvista hardware - screen and CPU all in one compact unit. Game seems to run, but blank screen - nothing visible. Uninstalled and reinstalled on each machine. I am visiting my dad (80 years old) who was recently widowed and lives alone - hoping to play chess with him on line. He used to play a lot, but needs refresher. This was an important purchase. How completely dissapointing for both he and I..... |

First, if you haven't already done so, make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card(s).
Also, install the patches for the game; you can find these under the Chessmaster 10th Edition Downloads. If you still have problems, please contact Ubisoft Technical Support. I hope this helps! |
