I usually run internet explorer and chessmaster together..
Unfortunately Chessmaster 10th edition will not allow you to run its videos in the background without having to pause or start all over again.
Is there a way to change the settings so that Chessmaster will continue running a video in the background even though it is not the active program (currently)?

Unfortunately, no... and it's the same way in Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition as well.
