I installed CM 9000 on Vista. It's much easier to install for multiple accounts than XP.
Install once, patch once, copy the Chessmaster directory in "Documents" to the documents directory of each user on the computer who wants it. Only bug found so far: the final positions diagram of a game analysis is incorrect - the board is missing and all the pieces are pushed to the left edge. |

I applied only 1.02a as Ubi indicates it is a cumulative patch.

Not a bug, but an issue. Microsoft does not deliver winhlp32.exe with Vista. The Chess Glossary in Chessmaster (or any 32-bit .hlp file in any software) will no longer function without a patch from Microsoft.

So much for backward compatibility!
Thanks for the information. I'll update the FAQ. |

WinHlp32.exe is no longer included with Windows starting with Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008. Microsoft explains the reason for this at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917607.
Fear not: At this same URL, you can download a small file that will install WinHlp32.exe on your Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008 computer. |
