Hi all,
I am curious to know who plays the chessmaster, including annotation, analysis and moves. I could not find this info anywhere, or perhaps I didn't search enough. Thank you. |

The credits mention that the voices are Vlad Oancea and Andrei Fantana. I have no clue as to whose voice is where, though.

Thanks, I had seen the credits as well but they didn't prove particularly satisfactory. In fact, I wondered how two Romanians could have such an American accent; of course they could have been born in America.
I searched for the two names and haven't seen any other voice over work which they did. One of the searches came up with a Romania born person, hence the voice is unlikely. Is the voice synthesised? If so it's rather brilliant. It sounds like it is a voice-over especially in the tutorial (i.e. give yourself a cookie and give me one too...etc...). Would be interested in knowing more if anyone has further info. |

Well, I have a definitive answer about the voice(s) used for Chessmaster... and they're not synthesized.
The voice used for Chessmaster (annotation, analysis, and moves) belongs to Denny Delk. The voice for illegal move commentary is Jeanne Reynolds. Their voices have been featured in Chessmaster for several years... since Chessmaster 6000. Where Oancea and Fantana come into the picture, I don't know... perhaps they do the voices for the Raving Rabbids set? |

Ah, thanks very much! Denny Delk is legendary, I couldn't find him listed in the credits and spent some time trying to figure out where I'd heard the voice.
For those who like adventure games he played a variety of known characters for lucasarts and most often plays the police officer or enforcement figure in movies. Great information, thanks again. |
