Is There a way to stop the chessboard squares from turning green, pink, blue, brown when i start to play. All i want is a plain black & white chessboard without the squares changing colors whenever i move the mouse over a square ?

To keep Chessmaster from changing the board square colors of the last move, select 'Board Settings' from the Preferences menu, and set Move Hightlights to 'Off'. However, the squares will still change color when you hover over them (there's no way to disable this).

You didn't mention if you wanted a 2D set or 3D set... but as far as 3D sets are concerned, the 'Staunton Official' is simple black and white. Or, if you perfer a chessboard with tournament colors (green and white), try 'Staunton Official II'.

If you don't have these sets, you can find them in the Chessmaster 10th Edition Downloads.

Hope this helps! Smile

I think he is talking about the chess coach. Go to "Mentor--Chess Coach" and turn everything off, so that it doesn't highlight threat squares, issolated pawns, etc.
