Is there something that CM9000 can do that CM10 can't? I came across a forum a while back, I can't remember where or what it really said, some guy was talking about how CM9000 could convert save files or could create Opening Books. At the time I just bought CM10 and didn't know much about it, but now it seems like it does the same things as CM9000. Navigating through CM9000 is a lot easier than CM10, so maybe that's why that person online mistaken CM9000 as doing something than CM10 couldn't. Any help on the subject would be appreciated.

You want confirmation about something, but you're not sure what that something is? Confused

Chessmaster 10th Edition can do everything CM 9000 can do... some features may have been revised; but as far as I know, CM 10 has all the functionality of CM 9000.

Not only that, Online Play is no longer available for CM 9000, which is another reason to upgrade. Smile

You're the first person I know who prefers the UI of CM 9000... it's not bad, but personally, I think the UI of Chessmaster 10th Edition better.

In Chessmaster 9000 you can create an opening book from a pgn file. In 10th edition and Grandmaster edition this is not posible. That is all that is "better" in Chessmaster 9000.

Just call me Gandalf, "I have no memory of this place." Yeah that's it, create a opening book from pgn file. I wouldn't say that makes CM9000 better than CM10, just unique I guess. I Prefer CM10 over CM9000, I have both installed on my laptop. I guess having both installed on one machine doesn't have much purpose. I also use Fritz 10, which is good program to have along side of CM10.

I liked CM9000, but when I bought CM10 I was hooked to the new UI. I was glad to see the online play finally worked and was available. I love all the chess sets that can be downloaded. The only thing I miss about CM9000 is the flat true 3D newspaper chess set with the different quotes that were and changed every time a person played.

Anyways, thanks for the feedback, next time I won't sound so confused about what I was looking for.
